Jazz try to trade for Parker

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Thu Jun 23, 2011 4:37 pm

Espn (via CNN/Sportsillustrated) is stating that the Jazz offered Devin Harris plus pick 12 for Tony Parker and the Spurs said no and would only consider it if we took on Jefferson's contract. The Jazz said no to Jefferson being added presumably the Jazz would have to add players back to SPurs to even out the contract (maybe Memo's expiring contract).

I think I make the same offer made by KOC. I love how agressive KOC has been this past year. He made a necessary great trade of DWill. He is a very good GM.

PS: Memo? Do the Jazz get an injury exception for him if he is unable to play all year?

Between Harris and Parker, I think I'd rather hold onto Harris, especially if the 12 was involved.

Maybe if we could get Gary Neal back or something also, but I don't like that trade at all.

You are looking at a 4 year 50 million dollar deal for Parker right now, seems steep for a guy going into his golden years.

I'd much rather just keep Harris. I wouldn't do that trade even without the pick, honestly, given Parker's contract.

I got the impression that the trade thread was more for people proposing trades. I don't mind seeing something like this that is just passing along info that might be floating around out there.
THANKS TOLEDO!

Why do you think they call them the golden years?

Its the money. Tony Parker is still a great point guard. He brings drama with is off court stuff. He is one of the fastest guards out there. he's 29 and knows how to win a ring. I would take that over harris any day.

I would too money aside. I'd trade Parker for Harris straight up, and so would all 30 GM's (that includes R.C. Buford, and Coach Pop too).

BTW, I'm Knew so maybe I don't know, but doesn't anyone source their references in their unnecessary extra threads around this joint? Board clogging thread + uncited rumor? Yeah.

It was the spurs that would only do it if we took on Richard JEfferson. They were only willing to trade parker if someone took on the contract of Richard Jefferson. They weren't asking for us to give up big AL "Jefferson."

I think he meant to write that Jefferson is "over the hill" (declining rapidly), but that Parker isn't.
