Like the Shawn Marion comparision with Singleton. Marion a little quicker I think in his prime, Singleton a little taller and better shooter. Needs a point guard like JW to score. Love this pick.

So obviously correct that you shouldn't have to type it.

Chris Singleton when asked what he's going to do to celebrate: "Celebrate? I'm just going to mark off the teams that passed me up." #Wizards

I've complained, but I do like Singleton's attitude. Kind of like Jamal Crawford, you can tell the guy likes to play angry. Vesely looks like a cocky dude. Just like Gordon Hayward, he looks all innocent but he's going to throw it down and dunk on guys and embarrass them. NBA players (black) underestimate guys like him. In terms of attitude, I like both guys.

However, IMO what wins is FG efficiency and rebounding (in addition to the defense, that seems to have been addressed somewhat). Washington didn't add shooters or big-time rebounders.

I would have preferred a shooter or a rebounder with the #18.

Seriously, though, forget this and start making a list of gratitudes--I know I had to. Last year, the day before I had to be in family court to try and prevent my ex from taking the kids totally, I was driving down the road and my engine went out.

You and others here on realgm were very supportive. Helped with not just kind words but also a lot of suggestions on car purchases. Seemed like the more stuff happened, as long as I went through things with a joyful attitude, things were fine. Legal fees, drama, so what?

Wizards draft is something we usually bitch about, any way. I wasn't all that happy with Wall. I know I HATED the McGee and Young picks. EG turned out to really be right on Javale. Nick can score it well enough for where he was picked and has turned out better than Almond and Belinelli--and then some (I was wrong).

Who knows? I feel bad today so far. I wanted the guy the Nuggets just picked, but oh well ...

Hang in there amigo. We still got another pick. The 2nd round is time to shine.

Ruz, things are SO MUCH BETTER this year. Already lost 25 pounds. Love the new apartment, the new car, and won in court. Just passed by the ex (quite unexpectedly) in a food court. I am on top of the world, man. Won't say anything bad about her but will say there's a song with a line "I ain't missing you at all". Best of all since all this went down, my credit score is good and getting better.

Being close to broke and learning to budget isn't the worst, man. People in other countries are starving and we're on the Internet blogging. :)

God is good. :)

Amen bro. Glad to hear you doing well. I gotta lose 20 pounds myself.

Hey, I thought SA dropped the ball on their pick. Since they traded Hill, I thought Jenkins would be the perfect pick, but they went with Corey Joseph - a talent but... he's nowhere near ready for the NBA, imo.

I guess Jordan Williams would be ok at 34. I'm a Md fan but not a huge JWill fan as far as pro potential. Apparently he's been shooting 500 jumpers a day. At least he has great hands and will rebound. The anti-Chris Singleton.

DARNIT!

Can we trade Blatche for Jimmy Butler?

Mark my words: Faried seems to be the type of guy with HOF potential. He's by far the most underrated player I've seen. For all of Vesely's dunks, the guy didn't score all that many points. For as limited a player as Faried supposedly is, he's among the most efficient of all NCAA finishers.

The explanation that Vesley won't have plays called for him but will score on breaks only applies on breaks.

Faried will get the ball off of both offensive and defensive rebounds. The reason Faried would have been a MUCH better selection than Vesely or Singleton is that he will have the ball in his hands far more than either player. Standing reach of 9' even is way better than taller Chris Singleton's 8'7.5". More importantly, Faried rebounded better than anybody in the NCAAs the past 25 years.

The guy will score a ton more points off dunks than Vesely.

For all the money guys like Ernie and his scouts and everybody else's scouts make, you guys who know me know I miss, too. (Almond and fats Sweetney are examples). But time and again things like trading the rights to Seth Curry for one-year rentals of Miller and Foye and selling DeJuan Blair, only to trade up for a Booker later or to draft higher for a player not nearly as good (Seraphin) are what happens. I talked about Millsap for MONTHS and Ernie drafted Pecherov.

Mark my words: This draft won't help that much because you can't play Singleton and Vesely without sitting Blatche and Lewisand Flip won't do that. You can't play both guys at the same time. It's like drafting two Trevor Arizas.

We'll see.

and Morehead State? How much of him have you seen to make a HOF kind of statement?

I have seen more than enough.

Harper would be a great pick for Miami. But I'm guessing they pick someone obscure.

Do think the twolves even know who is on their roster at this point?

At 34 I'd be happy with Williams, Tyler or Harper

Harper will have a bigger impact on Cleve than Thompson will, imo.
