Tyler intrigued me. If Sund took Sy as a project then I woulnd't mind Selby or Richmond. I really hope they don't take I.Thomas or Hansbrough's little brother.

Rochester, Michigan a suburb about 30 min north of Detroit. I went to school with the guy i think you guys will like him especially at the 48th its a good pick. When he come out of high school he was supposed to be a SF but at OU he grew and worked on his game and ultimately developed in a C. After watching him for 2 years the guy has improved so much since he came in as a Freshmen. Despite him being 23 i think he can still add some weight. The guy has a strong work ethic and i believe he can still grow as a player. If he can get some good coaching and get in the weight room he could be a solid role player for you guys.

Maybe it's me being a homer since i go to Oakland but i hope he succeeds with you guys. Good luck next season !

I was hoping that Jeremy Tyler, Charles Jenkins, or Andrew Goudelock would fall to the Hawks (in that order), unfortunately, none of them did.

I don't think Benson will be a good player, but i don't think it is a bad pick, because Tyler, Jenkins, and Goudelock were already off the board.

if i was making the pick, i would have taken E'Twaun Moore. I think he had the gaudy numbers that translates well into the NBA, but at that point, Benson would have been #2 on my list of guys still available.

i think Benson will be a Solomon Jones (Othello Hunter) clone. i don't think Benson has the frame or body type to add anymore weight or muscle (remeber he is not a kid, he is already 23yr), but hopefully i'm wrong and Josh Smith can grab a hold of this guys and show him how to hit the weight room

i think the Hawks should have the same approach that the Wizards took on Andray Blatche when they drafted him and play him at SF for his rookie year, then when he adds more weight, slowly move him to PF and Center.

again, i'm still disappointed that Tyler, or Jenkins didn't fall to the Hawks, but the Hawks made the best of the situation and took a player that might fill a need, so all in all, i give the Hawks a "B+"

more like Gerald Wallace but Sacramento went with Mike Bibby, Peja Stojacovic, 33yo Doug Christie, Vlade Divac, Brad Miller, Anthony Peeler, Tony Massenberg.
Gerald Wallace got 337 minutes and Sacramento won 55 games.

Rick Adelman is the greatest coach of all time. Really knows how to identify and exploit talent. Actually he doesn't he just puts a whole bunch of shooters on the floor. Jamal Crawford and Bibby at the point guard anyone?

When Latrell Sprewell outscores Bibby and Stojacovic combined you know you have a flawed scheme ie too many jump shooters on the floor.

I could care less if Hawks drafted Leslie or Malcolm Thomas to backup Joe and Josh. We traded a first rounder and a 2nd round pick who was a gunner, but he's generating value around the league.

We traded for Kirk Hinrich and could have picked Motiejunas who was available- fail.
We tried to trade Josh for a scoring center in Kanter and ended up with Keith Benson who struggled to guard Kanter (a power forward) in workouts.
Magnum Rolle, Hilton Armstrong and Keith Benson?

You think the Hawks haven't tried to trade Joe Johnson? The Hawks are in panic mode and are not impressing anyone with their single draft day move.

Congrats to MIN, IND and HOU who actually tried to reshuffle. congrats to SA to getting a good rebuilding piece.

Congrats to LAL (Kobe, Gasol) who drafted a potential facilitator/trade piece.
Congrats to LAC who have a rookie who crossed the 20% WS and now will have Eric Gordon and a potential 2-way threat in Leslie. Hope he eventually becomes a Gerald Wallace type threat.

Congrats to NYK and Iman Shumpert. Hope he eventually becomes a Gilbert Arenas type big guard.

Shame on ATL for trying to trade away their only native player, handicapping themselves with Joe Johnson, playing Marvin Williams as a 3 and am $8 million 5th offensive option, and then following up with cheap signings like Damien Wilkins and Jason Collins.

I've seen it with Philadelphia drafting a redundant player and trading defense away for Spencer Hawes unless Keith Benson becomes Ben Wallace and Horford starts shooting 3s like Rasheed.

Joe Johnson's win share % during the regular season was 8%. Average NBA player affects 10% of the game in a positive manner.
So Hawks payed a player $120 million to be below average. Yeah lol at me.

Rebuilding process has already begun. Pape Sy could become Manu Ginobili and this team would still not be a contender. Cause Larry Drew would sit him like he sat Teague for Kirk/Bibby.

The Hawks are FINANCIALLY COMMITTED to below average/losing players. Bibby, Hinrich Joe, Jamal. We have a whole bunch of Monta Ellis type players.
Think about that. Technically the Hawks are Financially COMMITTED TO LOSING. :o
