did Miami use Wade/LeBron pick'n'roll enough in Finals?

Post#1 » by spurket » Thu Jun 23, 2011 6:06 pm

Isn't the Wade/LeBron p'n'r unstoppable?
I think Spo is the reason Miami didn't win the championship.
LeBron didn't shoot enough in the finals. Spo should have made it part of the gameplan. He should have demanded LeBron to average 25 points a game and draw fouls and get free throws. He should have told LeBron "If you don't don't average 25 points a game and draw fouls, then you are letting down your teammates."
Spo simply didn't get the most out of LeBron.
The game plan was probably to make LeBron a facilitator and use his energy for defense.
Wade had the better matchup but Spo should have DEMANDED that LeBron shoot more. Marion is a good defender but so were Iggy, Pierce, and Deng.
Wade played great and did his part.
I don't think LeBron was being coached correctly during the finals.
Miami could have just used the Wade/LeBron pick'n'roll every single time on offense during the last 5 minutes of games 2 and 4 and they would have swept Dallas.

Nope, for whatever reason they stopped going to it after the ECF, they also didn't utilize Wade's strength in the post in game 6 of the finals( an area where he dominated the previous 5 games).

I really dont understand all this Adelman stuff though I know back in the day he was great with the Blazers and he did his thing with the Kings and with a broken roster made Houston respectable. But really is he the answer to our problems ? I find it hilarious and trust me im not a Spo fan but if Spo goes there is ONLY one guy I want taking the job and thats Pat Riley.

Of course not...Spo's is waiting till this year's playoffs to show what his offense is all about...

Every year when it comes to Spo we talk about him holding back..

Spo first: "Rookie coach, let him grow"
Second Year: "He doesn't have enough talent(Under used Beasley), give him more and he'll improve"
3rd Year: "Its his first year with the Big 3, give him time to adjust."
4th Year: ???What will people say then?

No. I can say this by seeing how much less Joel was setting screens for Wade.

Spo was saving all the good plays for when the games really mattered. Isn't that what he was saying all season?

Our offense was good because we had three great players, but inconsistent because we didn't have the best of plans and weren't consistently getting easy shots. Its easy to have a good offense when Wade and Lebron are getting dunks on the fastbreak or hitting contested shots with the shot clock running out, we have enough talent that we should be able to score in the halfcourt in the times when they aren't
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.

Adelman>>> Spo.The Heat will always be a defensive first team,if you add the offensive genius of Adelman this team would be unstoppable; There's really no reason why this team shouldn't have been far and away the #1 team on offense when you 3 of the top 15 scorers in the league.

I say hire Adelman and put Spo as defensive assistant, honestly the sig is just for fun I already know Spo will never be fired. :(

No and I will never understand why. Joel stopped doing screens too I noticed.

If it's not broken don't freakin' fix it. And look what happened.

4th Year: Trade LeBron for Nash. It is all LeBron's fault!!!

With guys like Wade, James and Bosh available, I would have ran 100 different variations of the pick and roll with those guys.
