13 Potential Contracts w/o Brown

Post#1 » by ALL HAIL » Fri Jun 24, 2011 5:40 am

If Morris and Goudelock make the team and Shannon Brown opts out, the Lakers will have 13 guys under contract.

With the two remaining roster spots, the Lakers need to sign Delonte West and Troy Murphy.

Both would probably come for the minimum.

PG - Blake - West - Morris
SG - Bryant - Fisher - Goudelock
C - Bynum - Gasol - Caracter
PF - Odom - Murphy - Walton
SF - Peace - Barnes - Ebanks

I wanted Delonte West a year ago. Solid defender, great playmaker an AUTOMATIC from 3. Exactly what we needed. Doubt Boston lets him go after his performance in the playoffs. :/

Having 13 contracts on the books doesn't mean there are only 2 spots open on the roster other moves can still made threw trades . Also All Hail your roster is totally off you want to bench Pau after one bad post season that makes no sense also Murphy was useless in Boston he won't be an option for the Lakers. More likely options Jeff Foster as a backup C or using the Sasha TPE to get a shooter off the bench and probably putting together some kind of package to a young productive PG either off the bench or starting.

Brooks can't guard anyone though.

We won't have the money to sign both. Not sure why we need Murphy anyways, all we need is a serviceable big in case Bynum goes down. With our trio front court, there won't be enough minutes to distribute to Murphy. With only 96 minutes to go around the 4 and 5, Gasol/Odom/Bynum will all command at least 30+ MPG. Don't know much about the Morris guy but I would like to have Goudelock on the team as a shooter.

Fisher/Morris/Blake
Kobe/Goudelock
Artest/Barnes

If there is still an MLE after the cba talks, you can bet we will spend our money on the two oldest/useless FA's out there. And watch Boston, Dallas and Miami sign players that would have put us over the top

troy murphy AHAHAHA

you **** serious? dude sucks beyond comprehension. he didn't even looked like a pro in boston.

he's really that bad. I realize that he had good season in indiana but no. we don't need to hire another scrub.

Josh Smith = Troy Murphy.

You lost all credibility when you said Josh Smith = Troy Murphy.

Why is Pau Gasol a back up C and Fisher a back up SG?

I'd be cool with a Delonte West signinoy Murpg for sure, though if we got him we better start him at the PG ... he is way, way, way better than Blake.

As for Troy Murphy ... no thanks.

I also think Luke Walton will be cut with the new amnesty clause ...

Personally I say our biggest "need" is a legit back-up C and maybe one more SG ... T-Mac/Vince/Hill would all be cool by me at the SG ... Kwame or someone hopefully better at the C would be great too.

PG: Fisher/Blake/Morris
SG: Kobe/McGrady/Goudelock
SF: Peace/Barnes/Ebanks
PF: Pau/Odom/Caracter
C: Bynum/Kwame

maybe dallas & mia but come now after the debacle in Bos this season you can't give them any credit, Shaq/Murphy/Pavolvic all did nothing but I wouldn't mind stealing West from them, didn't seem all to crazy outside of beating up Vafer

(in my southern slang) See that....I like that right there nah! But our PG still has not been addressed with this line up.

Phil and his crew are gone dude... I doubt we have to worry about the sign-the-oldass-washed-up-PG syndrome any longer. We are cured until further notice...

First if both our second round pick guards stick we have no need to sign West and wouldn't waste the money/roster space to carry 6 guards.

Secondly we have no need to sign Murphy with Gasol and Odom taking the PF minutes, plus Caracter if he stays.

If things stay the way they are now and Brown opts out we'll be looking at adding a backup Center with whatever the new CBA allows. We need to get someone who can do more than spot minutes, Ratliff was a terrible signing last season and was a factor in us having to play Gasol extra minutes over the season.

Those players did not do anything the last few years. You can find younger players who have more up side and can make a team more athletic.

I take it the OP never saw what Troy Murphy looked like out on the floor in Celtic Green.
