Who wouldnt want a rotational triple threat like that on your team? You got your inside and you got your outside. :dontknow:

FWIW, Danny Ainge was on local radio(WEEI Boston) and was asked to project who would be the best players in a few years time from this draft. Ainge said Derrick Williams and then went on to talk about Jonas. He said he has a good chance to be a top player on a team and went on to mention Marc Gasol. Ainge has been pretty good at singling out the top picks...has tried to trade up for Tyreke Evans and Chris Paul in the past, liked Cousins last year, and has a good track record for guys he's praised over the air. Thought it was interesting how he didn't bring up Kyrie.

I personally trust his eye for talent so I thought it was worthy of passing on.

Question: Could Valanciunas play some 4, especially if he adds a post game? He seems to have that Pau Gasol-esque versatility, where Gasol can play both 4 and 5.

I think it's best for everyone if he stays as a 5. Why would you need JV as 4? Bargnani is better at PF then Jonas. Ed Davis should also play PF not C. If Val adds weight and strenght he will be a very strong center in the league.

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

Ya a Celtic fan posted the link on that quote. I think once people actually watched how he plays they'll come around. I personally love the pick. When he became available along with Knight at 5, I wanted one of those two.

Their was a rumour while back, but its only that for now.
Trade to Memphis
Andrea Bargnani, Leandrinho Barbosa, Paul George

Trade to Indiana
OJ Mayo, Xavier Henry, Jose Calderon

Trade to Toronto
Rudy Gay, James Posey, Dahntay Jones

http://www.bettingsportsreview.com/news ... -grizzlies

And with the Jonas pick, the cards look like its falling into place. People expected either Amir, Ed, or Bargs to be traded after the draft choice, this could happen! *pray*

Probably forgot Pacers picked up George Hill yesterday..? They already have Hill + Collison no need Calderon

Perhaps Colangelo has grown wise, and given up on his current roster. I would, too. All of 'em. And if that's the case, and he's just looking forward to 2013 with a 21-year old Valanciunas coming off his rookie year and Dwane Casey in charge, than this is something I can get behind.
Today, though, will be tough. Real tough.

Normally I don't let ignorance on the part of our neighbours to the south bug me too much but there is so damn much of it all of a sudden. What a dick. As if Ed and Demar to say nothing of Amir, Bayless and even JJ aren't very promising young players. I really can't wait till we kick ass in 2 years.

Check this video out it's of Valanciunas vs. Karnowski, no idea who that is but it looks like one of his big rivals in Europe. This can give us insight as to how he plays on both ends when it's personal/a challenge

I love how the poll has trended from the low 40s to almost 50% liking it, now that the experts are commending the pick and people actually took the time to read the scouting. I hope those who said they are done with the team actually follow through, but I suppose drama queens can always use menstruation as an excuse for their emotional highs and lows.

As far as I know this polish guy isn't a rival of Valanciunas he is just another talented young player. The only rival Valanciunas has is Enes Kanter and even he isn't a "true" rival. As for the video - I think it is just an example of how he plays against bigger/stronger/bulkier opponents.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

That video is pretty old. Global Games U19 world championships are starting and JV is going to play there. I'm pretty sure that "Lietuvos Rytas" website is going to stream it live for free. They have streamed today's game Lithuania vs Argentina so I'm pretty sure other games will be streamed as well. If you want I could be dropping links to the stream website for you guys.

Val is playing for 40-50 thousand Euros per year right now. Worst case scenario it takes 3 years although BC thinks it wouldn't come to that because they wouldn't want an 'unhappy' player on their team if they deny letting him go to the NBA.

BC: Val's development might be 'best' if he were in Europe for the coming year.
