With the lockout looming, it's looking like DJ will be the starter at the beginning of the season at least. I wouldn't mind keeping him as a backup if Kemba clearly out performs him. He isn't making a ton right now and I question what his trade value would be. Even if/when we move him we'll need another veteran backup point.
Right now i'd give the draft a B+/A- I have the feeling that Kemba will be a player. The kid knows how to score and win. He is a high character guy with the "it" factor. He's improved a lot every single year and is a gym rat that LOVES the game. He seems to want to squeeze every once of potential he can and then some out of his game.
BB could really send this draft in the A++ territory. As he learns the game more and how to use his athleticism he seems to have the tools to be a multiple Defensive POTY. Once he starts playing decent minutes I feel he's the type of guy that can get 8-9 points a game just off of hustle, running the floor, and offensive putbacks. I'm not expecting him to be Hakeem like, but if he can develop a little something on offense to the point where he can get you 14-16 ppg, he'll be really special. I think the key for him is to shoot as many FT's as possible per day b/c I can guys fouling him due to them not being able to keep him off the boards and him out running others in transition.

That is why those two picks are so great to me. We got two guys who could be at the top of the nba at their positions yet it will take time for them to get there. Time enough for us to add Harrison Barnes maybe?

A- by Reina here at RGM. Seems to be a whole lot of A- grades for the Bobcats. Good to hear it.

Most people, in the media and on RealGM, seem inclined to really like our draft. Some people are really adamantly against Biyombo (understandably), though. So pleased for once to see the team praised.
I think it's a fantastic pair of picks. I would give it a full-on A if we had kept Tyler, who I was actually pretty excited to see, but getting Walker at 9 was just spectacular. I would have seriously considered him at 3 if I were the Jazz.

One aspect which wasn't mentioned yet and i really like is that with that trade we got some value for Jack and now have Maggette's contract which won't bring us anything in any trade and thus is a perfect option for possible amnesty clause under new CBA (erasing one contract per team).
A. I would rather have player isntead of 2 millions that's the only think whya it is not A+.

That was tossed around a bit in the BCP Draft chat. The question was Diop or Maggette (our only SF).
It's a tough call, really. If we had a serviceable wing to take his spot I'd certainly go Maggs, but it's iffy as of now.

Diop is smaller contract, probably worse player, because of lesser contract easier to move (as na expiring one day) and there may be a chance of some insurance kicking in if he keeps stay injured.
Pretty much all speaks for him, I would cut off Maggette.

But then what do we do at SF?
Hammer? Diaw? Tyrus?
I think flipping Diop would be easier to handle as a team because we have a ton of guys who can spot minutes there. I also think Maggette will be easier to move since he'll be an expiring next year who would be a nice bench player
