In 5 years, who will be better: Kanter or Jonas Valanucias?

Post#1 » by Yoga » Fri Jun 24, 2011 10:04 pm

As a Raptors fan, I hope Jonas V has a better career than Enes Kanter. I think Kanter has a higher bust potential but could be an all-star as well.

I predict Enes Kanter will be a bust and Jonas V will be develop into a very good center (and potential all-star).

Eddy Curry's pinky weighs more than Kanter. Look how that turned out.

I think Kanter will be pretty solid though - maybe 1 or 2 non-Jamal Magliore type all star appearances. Jonas will be more of a fringe all star.

Yes, they ALWAYS draft crappy Euros. Who did the draft from Europe in the first round before Valanciunas? Alexander Radojevic in 1999 and Andre Bargnani in 2006. Please stfu

I like Valanciunas a lot. I think in time he can become similar to Chris Bosh. I doubt he ever will be a defensive anchor but he is a solid rebounder and definitely has a good enough skillset to score in the post and around the paint. Worst case I see him as a more polished Andris Biedrins.

I dont know much about Kanter apart from clips but I liked what I saw too. A less athletic Al Horford, with more range, came to mind.

We don't even know how good they are now...how are we suppose to project their development five years from now?

But not near the defender that Horford is apparently.

I like both guys, but I think Kanter will be better.

Jonas is longer, but Kanter is tougher and has a better skill-set. I think he'll be a very good rebounder in the NBA, good scorer, and solid defender. He can hurt you from the inside or outside. I expect 18 and 10 from him in his prime.

I like Jonas too. He's skinny right now, but he's only 19, and should put on a lot of weight from now onto his prime, which will make him a better defender. He's not skilled offensively, but he has solid touch, and I think he'll be able to add a mid-range jumpshot to his arsenal real soon because he's already a great free-throw shooter. And his rebounding numbers overseas were special. I expext at least 12 and 10 in his prime.

Okur's prime was 18/10. Kanter is supposed to be much better than him.

While I'm not a huge fan of the Jonas pick, Kanter will be a bust. Big that plays well under the rim, with below average size/reach, and no defensive presence. His ceiling is an Al Jefferson and his floor is a Aruajo.

I wonder what the results would look like if you took out Jazz and Raptors fans.

At this point it's just voting for your team's guy.
