Melo's defense isn't good and I don't see him having a change of heart all of a sudden and actually deciding to play with a consistent effort on that end. He's been in the league for a few years now, safe to say he is what he is defensively.

Funny thing is we have guys like STAT who talk about how we need to get better defensively but he refuses to properly and consistently play defense himself...don't talk about it, be about it...and at this point I just don't think these guys want it hard enough if they're not willing to get in the defensive stance, stretch their arms out wide, and use their athleticism to stay in front of their man. Defense is all desire (for the most part), if you have the tools, use them. No excuses.

The thing with Amare is he never learned how to play defense at the NBA level let alone preached it to him. I mean look who has coached him his whole career.

Marcus Morris is not good enough to shine Melo's shoes. Those kids seem a little too cocky. Do something first and then talk. Melo by himself led his Syracuse team to a national title. The Morris twins got knocked out by VCU.
