This year and next, pending league approval.
You said it Chewie--where did you dig up that old fossil???
Anyhow, hasn't managed since 2000 with the Dodgers and of course, did win the world series in 1986. Guy obviously has experience, and a two-year can't hurt...

Personally I thought we could have gone after Ozzie Guillen, but...I dunno, guess not. MASN put up a graphic of the managers who may or may not be free agents this offseason and the list wasn't that impressive. We could have done worse is what I'm saying.

Johnson could be a great move.

Yeah, for the looks of things, he's signed through at least next year and then we'll go from there. We'll see. Ozzie Guillen's contract runs out at the end of next season. He could be an option.

Really wish we just went interim manager for a while and really took the time to look for a replacement. I like Davey Johnson just don't like brining in a manager who has been out of baseball for 10 years....

He may just be that.
I wouldn't be that concerned about his absence at the managerial level. DJ will do fine....

Yeah, but look at what Buck Showalter has done for the Orioles? They've won about 70 games with him at the helm and he took over in August I believe.

I don't know, after years of easy living I don't think my heart could take that much bunting. Also the man has allowed Juan Pierre to accumulate over 300 AB's in left field, I don't know what to say to that other than this seems to be the result of some sort of fundamental misunderstanding of either Juan Pierre or of baseball.
