Damn, was really looking forward to watching Val play. :(
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

He'll be playing against the US team twice next week in preps for the U19 worlds. The US U-19 is composed of D-1 collegians. Nobody like a Harrison Barnes. Most familiar name is Tim Hardaway Jr of Michigan. But it should be fun to watch anyway. Wouldn't bet against Lithuania in the formal world championship tournament which begins on June 30.

By the way, they are in Group C of the worlds, as is Canada. While Wiltjer and Kabongo are giving this a pass, Kevin Pangos will be Canada's point guard.

As far as i've heard, Biyombo actually ditched his team in Spain (Baloncesto Fuenlabrada) and flew to hoop summit without their permission, after which he was immediately fired and sued for a buy-out.

If that's true, then it was an extremely smart move on his part. After all, he did end up getting drafted 7th mainly because of his hoop summit showing.

I'd say it's true if they weren't paying him. Then he had a right to ditch the team but it would speak poorly of him if he quit the team while under contract. It might also make his buyout a lot messier and more adversarial than Jonas'.

Don't think that's true. Heard there was actually a clause in his contract that allowed him to play in the Hoop Summit

After he got back from the Summit they didn't play him at all if the information I heard is correct.

The all story is bismack had clause in his contract to play for hoopsummit but his team needed him and didn't want to let him go. He didn't listen and they got pissed. I think they didn't pay him some money or sth and validated contract so his agent terminated it. Team sued bismack as they don't think they did anything wrong and want 1mln euro which was his buyout in contract. Worst case scenario Bismack will have to pay 1mln euro to his former team best case he is free to play in nba.

but according to league sources, Biyombo doesn’t have a letter of clearance from FIBA, the international basketball governing body, and is subject to a buyout.

Biyombo can’t sign an NBA contract until the matter is cleared up.

Will our board now get a bunch more Lithuanian fans, or did we already have a bunch from Kleiza?

And, for the Lithuanian guys......is Linas Kleiza considered a good player? Are you more excited about Jonas than you ever were with Linas?

Well I have hope Jonas one day will be allstar so I excited with Jonas more. But Kleiza is national team leader so he is considered best Lithuanian player now.

i was really excited about Kleiza after his World championship performance, never really cared about him before and his game changed after season in Europe he was like more team guy thats why i started to liking him and yes he is good player but Raptors lacks of that team game and ball movement for him to shine i think . Jonas for sure is now most interesting player to watch, he is best thing to come after Sabonis IMHO.

I love how he keeps the ball high in the air off of passes and goes up strong

I say this as a fan of the pick, but how tall is Val, really? Judging him against known knowns like BC and Stern, he's not that impressive. More like Ed Davis height.
