Cuz JJ Barea is the reincarnation of Gary Payton right?

I still would like to see something happen.

it pisses me off that the FO does not see that we have a lot of room for improvement, and that the competition is getting better and has surpassed us

we need a point guard, back up sg, iggy would be great at small forward (trade odom and artest), and a backup center would be nice

free agency is not going to help us, all we are going to do is sign a couple more dinosaurs

we need some youth and three point shooting

This. All the team needs is to fix up the bench & rest. This is still basically the same team that went to the finals 3 out of the last 4 years & won 2 titles

Basically translates to "I couldn't come up with anything creative in the draft and we took whatever fell into our lap".

If the PG and bench situation are not resolved before next season this ineptitude falls right in line with what he did before the 2003-04 season, banking on Kobe and Shaq to bail him out.

well we still have the MLE and the vets min, both would be enough to get us a combo guard and a backup center. this draft is not the only way we can improve

I truly believe Mitch doesn't want to break up the core, unless of course if we're gonna get a Dwight/CP3 player in return...

The Nugs got Dre Miller and Jordan Hamilton for Felton ... we certainly could have beat that offer with an Odom+Blake for Felton+K-Mart+future pick but Mitch must not be enamored with Felton ... fine by me.

You don't break the team up because it failed to 3 peat. At the moment the Lakers is still one of the stronger contenders to win next season, and that falling to the Mavs had more to do with the team mentally checking out than not having the right talent. The team needs to be re-evaluated with the new coach before any drastic moves should be made.

It will take time to find better players for the laker bench. The starters are there. Just need that one or two players with LO to make the team a better and deeper team.

^ No the starters are NOT there ... we need a new PG and I wouldn't mind having a more dependable new C. If Bynum had no injury history I don't think anyone, myself included would be inclined to trade him ... I wouldn't even trade him for CP3 ... it would be Dwight or no one ... however with his injury history he will probably always be mentioned in trades as no one likes "hoping" a guy can stay healthy.

The above said, we definitely NEED a new starting PG though and I think a Bynum + Blake package should be able to land us a big upgrade at the PG spot and a quality C without an injury history, if one not as talented as Bynum.

For example I know we could have gotten a re-signed Nene and Felton for Bynum and Blake.

If I were Lakers brass I'd be having Pau talk to his brother Marc and I'd be considering a Bynum and Blake for a re-signed Marc Gasol, OJ Mayo and 2012 pick.

Other trades that would make sense are Bynum, Brown and a pick for Jennings and Bogut ... Bynum, Blake and Walton for Monta and Biedrins and Bynum, Blake, Brown and a pick for Al Jefferson and Devin Harris.

Al Jefferson is just as injury prone as Andrew Bynum. I'd love to see Devin Harris on this team, though. He's in the top five, in terms of speed-- He has a 6'8" wingspan, and measured a 38 inch max vertical during his pre-draft measurements. He has the tools to be a top notch defensive point guard, especially when he's not forced to be the primary scoring option.

Devin Harris is no iron man either. Grizzlies really don't see much of an upgrade from Marc to take on Bynum and also give up on Mayo, take on Blake's contract not to mention give uis their 2012 pick.

Nene and Felton could have been an achievable trade mainly because Nene was in the last year of his contract and a younger Bynum might fit well with the Nuggets' current roster.

Are you serious? What other starter do we have that can make plays? No one can even dribble penetrate besides him. We're asking him to be our primary scorer, facilitator and closer, that's too much. I highly doubt he wants to do everything at this point in his career. We need a legit PG who can take the playmaking load off him. Hopefully Kobe can start playing off the ball more.
