Why someone who is not a bobcats' fan (never showed up here despite hi numerous posts) thinks it's a good idea to start a thread on someone else's board focusing on such meaningless thing as nicknames. If we felt such a thread should exists we would already started it by ourselves, wouldn't we? Who should we troll back?

33/33/33 shot he's either from the Bulls Board, the Raptors Board, or the Knicks Board...

EDIT: I post on other boards all the time, but I don't usually start threads. Then again I don't really see why this would be a bad one.

You're correct, I'm a Raptor fan, but unfortunately our team didn't pick Biyombo :P

Bargnani for Biyombo and Maggette?

I call him Blockmac Byiombo as you all know I also like Byiombo Mutumbo. I like Kembo Nice, K Rock, Special K, and K Dubb. Also Kemba is from the Bronx, so we could call him KHW-1 :D

I don't entirely understand that though, and it kind of implies they're a unit/combo. I think that would prove annoying if things didn't go exactly to plan. Carroll can be the Hammer whether he sucks or not because it doesn't really affect anything other than being fun. If we have thunder but no lightning, then it feels weird.

Also I don't get it :(

Someone on the board has been calling him "Bizzy" - not bad, esp. if he lives up to his rep as a relentless hustler, but I do love me some "Bitchsmack".

I definitely can't wait for the first time I can say "You sir, have been Bismacked," or, "You done been Bismacked"

Grantland: The first thing you need when you enter the NBA is the perfect nickname. Do you already have any in mind? Or do you need the hookup?

Biyombo: [Laughing.] I have a lot of nicknames. Growing up my friends, my brothers, and my cousins always called me "Master." They were being sarcastic, I think, because I am always bossing them around. So, when I first step in the League in Congo, my teammates hear my brothers call me that, and they start to call me "Young Master." Then I keep growing, and they take the "Young" away, so I'm just "Master" again. Now when I go home and show up at the court, they still call me Master.

In Spain, one day when I was walking to the gym, [former teammate Esteban] Batista called me
"'La Pantera" — "The Black Panther." He just made it up that second but the name stuck. At my agent's office, I walk down the hallway and everyone says, "La Pantera, La Pantera." I like it — "The Black Panther" — that's my favorite.

Then in Portland at the Hoops Summit, my teammates were calling me all kinds of nicknames! They called me "Big Mac" and I was like, "What? What is this, Big Mac?" Then one guy was like, "We want to call you 'Big Smack.'" So I said, "OK, you can call me 'Big Smack.' I can roll with that." They had all kinds of nicknames for me, a different one every day. Kevin Pangos, the Canadian, one time he said during practice, "Dude, you're the ****' 'Business,' man. That's your new name." I asked why. He said, "Dude, when you're on the floor, you're all business. We're gonna call you 'The Business.'" Soon everyone was calling me "The Business." It's amazing how fast you can get a nickname. When I'm in the League, I think I'll have no choice. People will call me something, and I'll just have to go with it.

Should give you some ideas.

"Bitchsmack" is a good one, but it takes a bit too long to type during a game thread. So I will suggest a shorthand nickname: BIBO.

Kemba will become such an icon that he doesn't need a nickname....just ... KEMBA!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Biyombo = Bimbo - just take out the yo

Kemba is fine as-is.

I'm sticking with Bismack-E as in Biz Markie, or the Biz for short.

Biz and Bizzy is fine, but Bitchsmack should be the long form.

usually nicknames have to be earned through the gamethreads or during the season.

you can try to force them all you want, but if a fitting name will emerge eventually.

i mean, names like crash, toodles, pussyfoot, mcminus, princess, pillow and hammer didnt happen out of a brainstorming session. they were earned.

of course sometimes the nicknames are easy like fabio, jinx and fatty.

sometimes the nicknames are already established like ammo and jax.

sometimes you have a name that is basically a nickname like dj

and then sometimes you never get a nickname like ray, until one day something hilarious like super nuggety chunks appears out of nowhere.

that being said, i like bitchsmack or bizz for biyombo. for kemba i think his real name is fitting, until he earns one.
