What u think Knick fellas? You want Nash? I think Iman Shumpert is a Suns pick cause Suns wanted him badly. Nash/Warrick (14 million) -for- Billups/Fields/Shumpert (15 million)

Trying to fit into Dantoni's system is just F'in stupid, you cant win championships this way. Try and out score everyone and play no D. Shumpert was the right pick IMO.

Thats why it Dantoni's last year.

Shumpert can shoot, even Walsh said so.. you will see.

so what are peoples thoughts of trading him for a pick? this way in case he does leave in FA, you have a fallback

But Fields' cap hold will be close to like $1 million or $2 million. I think Paul would take a million dollar cut if it meant keeping somebody like Fields on the roster (especially considering it's gonna be hard to add talent after he signs).

i suppose that's better than renouncing him. I'm not sure what he'd fetch though. a post lotto or a non lotto first would be disappointing....

the clippers have the wolves unprotected first next season, but the only way i see them trading it would be for something like Fields+Billups for mo Williams.

something like fields + Billups for mo Williams and the t-wolves pick to the clippers works. they DID swap baron Davis for mo f-in Williams and in the process traded and unprotected pick that ended up being Kyrie Irving. they've got enough young players there anyway.

the questions will remain though, will iman be our point of the future? or is paul still the guy we want?

If we could get a 1st rounder for him, sure. I'm already dreaming of Jeremy Lamb or (preferably) Kendall Marshall in a Knicks uniform.

Exactly. I don't want Fields gone at all, but if it's clear we're going after CP3 and we won't be able to afford re-signing him along with bringing in CP3, then we should trade him while we can.

We might be. Landry's cap hold is only like $1 million. Similar to how Miami was able to re-sign Joel Anthony. It's actually pretty possible. Idk the exact cap room we'll have (no1 does), but lets say it's between $14-18 mil and if Chris Paul agrees to sign with us for all of our available space minus $1 million (or w.e exact # Fields' cap hold is) than we'd be able to re-sign Landry after. Of course, this only works under current rules.

Bank on there being an amnesty clause and cut Arenas.

2012 salary: Melo, Dwight, Bass, Balkman = 44.6. Assuming all player options are picked up. 65 million cap? Should be able to fit signing Paul in there. Or Deron if he wishes to come (I'd go for him, also great but been healthier). I am also assuming that an amnesty clause, while you still have to pay the player, they don't count towards the cap.

Don't know if this has been posted but this guy has fans on this board...so to those fans, you're one step closer to realizing your wishes for this guy to be put on the market.

When the NBA offseason begins following resolution of their collective bargaining agreement, the 76ers will be interested in trading Marreese Speights.

Speights hasn't meshed well within the style of Doug Collins.

If the team can trade Speights, they would like to use their free agent money to sign a solid, power big to start at center.

Spencer Hawes, who will be a restricted free agent, is considered a backup.

Any1 like Nick Young? 17.5 ppg 44% fg 39% 81% ft 3p 1.5 to pg. I dont watch him much and Ive heard hes not the brightest bulb but his d couldnt be worse than Fields and he scores and can shoot decently.

About Speights...he's not a center, is mentally weak (and apparently has attitude problems), not a good defender, not a good rebounder, and doesn't like contact. BTD loves him, and I'm still waiting for his thread on it, but I personally don't want him.

Young has a low BBIQ but is a good player lol...nice shooter and scorer. He's a RFA though and is going to get paid. As for his defense being worse than Fields' defense - at least Fields tries lol. Young is a one dimensional player whereas Fields is multi-dimensional.

the last thing we need is a guy that is all offense, no defense, averages less than 1 assist per game, on this team when we already have melo+ amare.

sometimes i wonder if guys that post trades here even watches the knicks
