Dequan Cook receives qualifying offer

He is now a restricted free agent and we can match any offer for him. Hopefully we keep him and some other team doesn't give him some insane offer sheet, I like what he brings.

Good news, I also want him to be a Thunder next year.
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

I am suprised that Cook was extended. It is a good move for the next season though. Who knows what the cap will be and it is in good faith that the Thunder give Cook three million next year. Hopefully he takes that into considerations when he is thinking about signing a new contract.

This was expected. I'd say it's 50/50 whether or not he returns.

I think he won't get more in the market than the qualifying offer (3.1M), then that's easy to match.

I think we're one of the few team that probably less worried about a new cap. I think he probably can get maximum 12m/3 years so that's like a 3.5m-4m per year deal.

The Thunder are always concerened about the Cap. The Cap is going to shrink. Maybe this is a play to try to pay Westbrook a little bit less.
