You know, Courtney Sims has been lighting up the D League for what seems an eternity. He's just coming off another 17ppg/10rpg/1.5bpg season. I bet he could start for us next season. Why not roll the dice on him as a stop gap?

I'm game. At this point I would rather fill our roster with young guys like that then sign any vets. Hopefully our FO realizes that, we never seem to go after LOGICAL NBADL targets.

One would assume he'd be cheaper than Kwame and at the least put up comparable #'s.

Edit:
http://sportsclt.com/2011/06/26/bobcats ... mini-camp/
Participants will include last year Bobcats Garrett Temple and former Bobcat Alan Anderson. Garrett Temple is not guaranteed a spot on the roster next year and will be left to battle for a spot with other participants including; Jawad Williams, Adam Koch, Stephane Lasme, Lance Allred, Patrick O’Bryant, Thomas Coleman, Gary Flowers, Orien Greene, Brandon Heath, Cedric Jackson, Russell Robinson, Elijah Millsap, Tony Gaffney, Jermaine Taylor, DeMarre Carroll, and Ronald Dupree.

So maybe someone can explain this to me. There's another thread on unsigned draftees that includes the likes of Jereme Richmond, Jamine Peterson, David Lighty, Greg Smith, Diante Garrett, Scotty Hopson. Why bring in a bunch of retreads when you can bring in guys with that kind of upside, who are basically free second round draft picks?

bonnell made a comment in one of his blogs the other day about the idea of pushing diaw hard in training camp to get his to lose that fat and try to use him more as a small forward this season.

frankly, i see it going the other way with him more likely to start at center if kwame doesnt return.

Really into this idea. Scoop one of these guys on the cheap. Hell, get multiples.

Yeah can't go wrong. Sign up all the young talent we can. If they work, great. If they don't, flip them for another youngin'

Yea. If they have an awesome season with us and sign elsewhere later, also okay.

Just be fun to watch.
