OT: I can't believe how much the word swag is being used these days, I remember when it was just starting to pop up in the hip-hop community, it's a bit weird seeing everybody use it now :-?

that is so random

IIRC that was Sam Cassell's number. I don't remember anyone else ever having used it though.

EDIT: It'd be hilarious if this was his way of telling us his real age.

That's also DJ Mbenga's number.

I know, but DJ Mbenga is probably a national disgrace.

And as we are due to lame attempt at nickname - The Armistice - his long arms stop all attacks; eventual pun: no offense on both sides

With those arms & that frame he can play center for sure.

Swagger/Swag as a terminology has been used since forever, Hip-hop culture took it & run with it but it has been around a long time.

It's been used a lot lately because The Swagcats are in town!!!!!

BigSlam's got a lot of swag....So much so that he's started a swag epidemic 8-)
Actually having a successful draft helps too.

Thanks Slam...Your Swag in untouchable right now

BTW...I'm loving it...Go the Charlotte Lol/Swat/SwagCats!!!

swag is so overplayed and corny now. It's the new spinners and fruity pebbles/coco puffs donks.

Us Aussies have been using swags for yonks.

You can't go camping without one.

They are also a common tool for the professional pi$$drinker.
When someone rocks up at your house with an esky full of beer and a swag, you knows its going to be a big night.

Biz doesn't seem very athletic - does he? He doesn't really explode to the rim.

it is good stuff. a decent breakdown of the limited tape that is available for him. hopefully when the (presumed) lockout is over, he will go to school in practice with silas and diaw and maybe oakley to learn the finer aspects of offensive sets and having a plan of what you want to do with the basketball when you receive it.

Are you being sarcastic or..... If your being serious watch his Nike World Summit Highlights, he is extremely explosive and quick. In fact he is one of the most athletic players I have ever watched, in the above videos he is "soft" with the ball, however this is because of the euro style of play which ignores such skills as backing your man, and favors surefire layups over spectacular dunks.

Be careful now. I've been around some people who thought they had "swag", ended up on the ground unconscious.

I've seen the world summit highlights and I am being serious. He is extremely long (obviously!) but isn't really super explosive.

Just in case you haven't seen the highlights ;) :

Check out the baseline spin at 1:29. If that was Howard, he would have just exploded to the rim and stuffed it.

The layup down the middle at 3:58? A lot of bigs would have thrown down.

99% of the blocks he got were because he is just super long and showed great timing - unlike someone like Gerald Wallace whose athletic ability allowed him to block shots.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not suggesting that Biz is a sloth, but he's not a mind blowing athlete either. I do hope our coaches work hard on his core strength though to add elite explosion (D.Howard style).

If he and Dwight both put a sticker on the backboard I think Dwight's sticker would be a bit higher. The really impressive thing is how quickly he gets up and how quickly he gets around in general for a guy that big and strong. I wouldn't call all his blocks "anticipation" blocks either. Go back to the video and watch how he is always jumping after the shooter on all of those blocks.

Check out the rebound and dunk at 4:33:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUxKzucN ... age#t=273s

The guy he is dunking on is Anthony Davis who is a Dwight-style raw vertical shot blocker (and probably a lottery pick next year) and Biz has the ball in the rim while he is still gathering himself to go up.

I think it would be somewhere between 4 and 8 inches higher. Dwight can jump nearly forty inches. Bizzy might not even reach 34 inches.
