If, for his 1st year in NBA, Biz only scored on powerful thunder dunks in the paint purely by outworking and over powering dudes I would be more than ok with that. In fact, I would be thrilled.

Like I said when we drafted him, if he ends up being a significantly more aggressive Okafor (who added a respectable baseline J by his 5th year) then I think that would be ace. It was really only the way that Okafor played under the rim (so comfortably) that really ticked me off. That and the fact he didn't see to really care as much as I would have liked him to.

If Biz is turns out like Okafor with roid rage who just loves the game, then I say we hit a home run.

I read elsewhere that the Spanish club had dishonoured their side of the contracts a few times and lawyers were confident that they could get it voided. Hence not requiring a buyout and deeming himself a free agent.

This is a good point, especially when you take into account that Okafor was #2 and Bismack was #7. Shooting can be taught so you have to hope that BB is willing to learn.

Right now, BB is more raw than Okafor but Okafor was 3-4 years older and played for one of the best programs in college basketball.

I'm cautiously optimistic about BB but I'd be thrilled if a report came out mid-season that he's only 16 or 17.

He wouldn't be allowed to play then, would he?

I was pretty meh about Bitchsmack before the draft, but I'm really starting to get excited about him now.

I thought he was pretty much confirmed to be 18?

If that came up mid-season, I don't know if the NBA would revoke his playing rights. He's already been drafted; same case with Tanguy Ngombo who has had some age issues.

From the report I read, doctors confirmed that his bones were consistent of something 16-20, so it's likely he could be of age. This was back when some questioned that he may actually be in his mid 20's or older.

Totally different than Ngombo as it would mean that BB is a minor. I'm sure there would be plenty of laws in regards to employing children in the US.

But I'm sure he is at least 18 years old.

This really befuddles me. I really don't understand how anyone could look at that baby face and demeanor and think that this kid is in his twenties. He looks and acts like he is 18 or 19.

^ That's one thing that Biyombo said. It's essentially his side of the story. The club probably sees things differently. The truth? Who knows at this point.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I just want BiBo to get cleared to play. Unfortunately we're headed for a certain lockout and it could be far worse than the NFL situation.

BTW, I suggested BiBo as a nickname earlier. Then while watching some video yesterday, I heard fans chanting " BiBo" at one of his games via a YouTube clip! I think that's really his best nickname, and suggest we carry it over to our board.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

It was over a year ago and they said he was 16 or 17. He'd be 18 by now at least.

the two biyombo threads were starting to basically be the same thing, so i figured i would consolidate both into one thread to make it easier to follow the discussion.

mikecranston1 Mike Cranston
Attempted to go up to #Bobcats GM Rich Cho and was intercepted by PR person. Strange happenings here regarding Biyombo

I don't know if that necessarily means anything regarding Biyombo, maybe Rich just cba to talk to Cranston.

I know BB wants to come over this year but would it really be that bad if he stayed in Spain for another season? There's no reason for him to pay ~$900k of his own money (if he even has that) to get out of his contract if we're going to play a shortened season or no season at all. If we're seriously about tanking, having him in Spain would help out our cause and give us an extra roster spot for a D-Leaguer/UFA. The ACB is a good league with former NBA players (and NBA talent) so he'll face tough competition.

This is true, but I somehow feel that being in the NBA this year might help his offensive game.

Well, I kind of believe he is not far from thruth - his camp saw opportunity to escape from that contract and did it. The club of course will try to squeeze some money and insist theyvoided the contract unlawfully. I'm not familiar with (spanish?) courts but it's no out of question it may last considerable time and made things worse for Bobcats and that could be Fuelenbrada's leverage. But I pretty much know as much as you :-?

So still no news on whether or not he will come to the NBA? Playing in Spain could be a good idea since he'll get the chance to actually work with coaches, but I understand wanting to bring him over.

BobsBuddy wrote::D :D The more I see of this guy the more I like him. I agree with Crunchys observation on another thread...Put TT at 4 and BB at 5 and NOBODY will be able to score on us down low.

Put these guys on the floor with Cunningham,Carroll and Kemba and our second unit look s pretty good

Tyrus can't be relied on to stay on the court for an extended period of time, since he's very prone to fouling. You don't want him guarding elite PFs like Dirk, Z-Bo, Amare, Blake, he'll pick up 2 fouls in 2 minutes. And i don't think that's even curable at this point. TT's defensive awareness, IQ is very poor, which is a real shame, because if he had Diaw's IQ, he'd be well worth the money he's getting over the next 3-4 years.
