Jackson also said he isn’t bitter about being traded by Charlotte.

“I didn’t want to be on a team where they’re going younger and they want to win three years from now,” Jackson said. “I’ll be at the end of my career. So winning now is important to me, and this is a great place to win now.”

Jackson was confused as to why the Bobcats held him out with an injury toward the end of last season.

“The last 10 games, I could have played,” Jackson said. “But they shut me down. The team shut me down. So I kind of assumed they didn’t want to make the playoffs.”

I think Jack was already politicking the front office for an extension...saying he wanted to settle down in CLT, etc. Maybe he did want to be here, but he wanted the extension more than anything else. When you're looking at the near-term end of your career like he is, you try to set the table as best you can.

I bet the Bucks are having a little buyers remourse..already looking at a problem before the lockout even begins.

If he can embrace a bench role, I think he could come back when his contract retires. Give him a small deal, let him tutor some guys and give veteran leadership, and see if he's interested in a coaching career.

I don't know what he'd be like a coach of any kind. I mean he's always been a two way player but offense is clearly his passion, defense is just something he does when he doesn't have the ball in his hands. But... he isn't really that good at offense, is he? I mean sets and stuff. He's a ball stopper which worked lots of times but not every time. I don't know.

Yeah, his high post moves are right up there with Kobe and a few other players. I love how slow he can make a jab step look. For someone playing SG against usually quicker players, he had to be that good at it though.

EDIT: There are definitely jobs in this world for a guy like Jackson. I just don't know if I see him as a head coach/assistant. Maybe as a specialist. Like Hakeem does so often, and what not. I don't really know. I hope he stays in NBA related activities though.

Heh, I can't fault Jack too much. The guy wants to win, the NBA is better with guys who have that kind of fire. He would be wasting the last few years of his career in a rebuilding situation and only stunt the rebuild. I hope he goes on to a situation where he can go deep in the playoffs and win a lot of games.

Thanks for the time you were here Jax. Hopefully Milwaukee will get you to second round of playoffs. The Bobcats on the other hand if they stay with the OKC building model should be in the conference final in 3-4 years after Wades and James bodies wear out.

After this Current CBA/ Lockout is over the middle market teams rebuilding will have a better chance to compete with a hard Cap so that LAL, MH, NYK,UJ,PT,NJN,CB, and DM can't buy a championship. If a hard cap isn't in place look for a 15-16 team league, because the rest of the teams including Charlotte will be broke.
