Smokey9782 wrote:Josh Harrellson joining Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony isn't going to give the Knicks a Big 3 like the team in Miami that recently choked.
But the rookie big man might give them a presence every team needs to advance, especially in the playoffs.
"I'm going to protect my stars," Harrellson said yesterday at halftime of the Liberty's win over the Los Angeles Sparks at the Prudential Center. "Amar'e, Carmelo, if someone's getting rough with them, I'm going to protect them. I'm going to make my presence felt. They'll know I'm there."

"I'm his protector tonight," said Harrellson, pointing at Knicks first-round pick Iman Shumpert, who celebrated his 21st birthday yesterday.

yeah he definitely looks skinnier, which is good that he's getting his bf% down- but after he leans out, he should gain back the weight in muscle if he's going to be our enforcer.
Yeah, it's definitely sure he (Jorts) is looking thinner. The best part? He hasn't even hit Training Camp yet, or had a chance to workout with our Physical Trainers and Nutritionists.
These 2 guys have a TENACIOUS work ethic ala TD and Landry Fields. Imagine all 4 on the floor at the same time!![]()

it's actually too bad they won't be able to use the msg training facility after july 1 most likely. expect to see them at a local gym near you lol.

@Moz that's all that it took to convince you that Jordan is not a good basketball player. All it needed was Dru to say he sucks and of course means Jordan won't be good???![]()
Jordan is a project but might turn into a servicable backup center...I don't think anyone knows how good he will be until he gets some burn in the states.
I agree with you. We should have a "Welcome Jordan" thread though....this guy may have a better shot at a season than Jorts with his added time playing overseas. I dont like the name Jordan though, he needs a nickname
And yeah, i was throwing a softball with my reply to "He sucks" so you could come in and hit a HR.
I'm pretty sure he has a nickname already though....it's Jerome "Jamaican Sensation" Jordan.

Dudes arms look a lot more defined than during his tenure at KU. Clearly he has been working on his body.
On another note, I just don't get what's the big deal about wearing jean shorts (denim). Doesn't everyone wear those? Judging by the photo above, if those are the infamous "jorts" then I don't get what all the fuss is about. Cats had me thinking this big dude walks around in daisy dukes or something!

Yeah, I made mention of this earlier in the Thread, but Jorts DEFINITELY has lost some MORE weight since the NCAA Toruney ended and his UK days too.
As 2010 points out above, he also looks more toned in his arms. Dude is definitely working on his body to get it into more NBA ready shape.

A german friend of mine came to visit last week and he was wearing those everywhere. No lie, people were looking at him like he was a fool. Of course, I walked a bunch of steps behind him cause I was horrified at being associated with him and his jorts. Just awful.

Can you dudes clarify this for me please. Are those the infamous "jorts" that he's wearing in the pic with the Knicks jersey? If so, what is so bad about them? Don't we all wear denim shorts? I just don't get it...*smh*

He was listed pretty heavy on some draft sites at 275 if I remember correctly. Even if he lost 20-25 pounds and got more muscle to replace the fat he still would be a very solidly built dude. As much as we all would like to have that 7 footer type at center there aren't very many skilled ones around anymore.
The trend in the NBA is more towards mobile Cs and ones that could be considered hybrid C-PFs. Jorts may indeed help the Knicks interior defense and depth but the Mavs proved again this year that length can be a difference maker in playoff basketball.
