Trade Verajao scenario

Post#1 » by Wisedude42 » Fri Jun 17, 2011 5:18 pm

Trade Verajao to Minnesota for the 2nd pick. then the Cavs have 1,2 and 4.

1) Kanter
2) Williams
4) Irving or Knight (whoever Utah doesn't select)
OR swap picks with Utah by giving them a future draft pick. The draft Irving at no. 3.

That would be nice, but published reports have Minny looking for Pau Gasol like return for their 2nd pick at this time.

Via ESPN:

What the hell are the T-Wolves gonna do? Any idea?

Hoping a trade comes along ... they've been playing it cool. Not initiating any trade talk. Keeping up the public face that they're keeping the pick. But I think they'll move it if they get the right pieces. They have a lot of interest in the Lakers' Pau Gasol. Also might bite if Wizards offer JaVale McGee. They want long, athletic players to run the floor with Rubio.

I dont think we could get a top 6 pick for Andy. I'm sure some teams would consider a pick around 10 for him, but lots wont. He doesnt have super high value, especially off an injury. #2 for him would be impossible. Kahn isn't that dumb.

I think he's worth more than a pick around 10 (at least in this draft) so

No way would I give a top 10 pick for AV. Top 5 your hoping for a star. Top 10 your hoping for a legit starter. Andy is neither in my opinion. He's a 6th man.

I think I'd do that deal.
...after, and only if, we land Kanter at #4.

If they take Jonas at #4 why would you pass on the AV trade?

I misspoke.
I'd be fine with the deal as long as we drafted one of those two bigs at #4.

Don't we already have the Clippers 2011 1st rounder?

I'd trade andy for the number two if Minny would do this. They are not getting Gasol for the number two. Lakers want the number two and Love. so that ends that. Andy is a 6th man yes. Williams will be a starter. SO I'd do it

Would you take Jermain O'Neal in a straight up trade? It seems to work in the trade checker. Jermaine comes off the books after next year and he could teach the young guys a few things while he's there.

Would you take Jamison straight up for Pierce? It works in the trade checker and Jamison is an expiring at the end of the year.

Sorry, not trying to be a jerk, but I do want to point out how ridiculous that trade offer was.

^^ I would rather keep Andy. JO is washed up. He is better off ring chasing at this point of his career anyways.

Is he going to teach our young bigs how to be injured for half their careers?
Well at least we're not Detroit!
