Nene is the hands down best fit into what we need. Athletic, capable of playing with either Roy or Tyler. In fact he's a better center than Roy and a better power forward than Tyler. He's not the scorer that West is and he'll no doubt cost more but I don't think its even close in assessing who you would rather have.

Is it possible Indiana could be the most desirable destination for Nene? Other than Denver is there another team that offers an up coming roster of young players and the capacity to pay him?

Indiana vs Denver

Collison vs Lawson pretty close
George vs Afflalo pretty close but George having the bigger upside
Granger vs Galanari Granger
Hansbrough vs Faried Hansbrough is the more known quantity
Hibbert vs ????? Hibbert

Could the possibility of playing a lot more power forward here be a big deal? For many undersized centers that's pretty important.

I wouldn't call him Horford or big Al undersized. More like Perkins undersized. Not a 7footer but with a big body and a large wingspan. If he was really undersized he wouldn't be able to play the center position effectively.

Nene would be our best big and with a good center like Hibbert already on the team, he might see a lot more minutes at the PF. He's quick enough to guard most pfs and he would also have a size advantage on almost all of them. I can see only positive things about it for him and for our team.

Question is, would a Nene and Hibbert tandem be the best lineup we can bring?
Personally, I would go for a Hansbrough-Nene frontcourt, with Hibbert coming of the bench.
Hansbrough isn't a great defender (read shotblocker), but he can hold his own on defense anywhere on the court.

I'd love to get Nene.
Just think he will get a very fat paycheck.

Stephenson got a two year guaranteed contract as a second round draft pick last season. We didn't cut him. He was just demoted for immaturity issues.

I like Nene more than David West simply because he can play both 4 and 5 effectively. That means Hansbrough's growth would not be "sacrificed". I just hope he could and would rebound some more, but he's already a better fit by a mile than David West in my opinion.

I agree.
But could we get West (who is cheaper than Nene) and a center - that as a pair gives us better offense at the 4 and as good or better D.
And can we get that pair at a price comperable to that which we would need to pay Nene or Chandler by them selves?

Who is the best defensive center we can get and ALSO get west?

With out of course jeopardizing our ability to sign our own guys later on.

sounds like a new thread.

I hope they get David West or Carl Landry.

West would be great for us for the next couple years while Larry Bird gets assets for the PF of the future if it's not Tyler Hansbrough

either one, West or Landry, would be awesome for the Pacers whenever the next season is

i thikn the pacers are set for next year everywhere else with Paul George, George Hill, Darren Collison in the backcourt and hopefully AJ Price, Lance Stephenson and Brandon Rush(doubt it) step their game up

AND RESIGN JEFF FOSTER!!!!!!
