What did Chandler say? And I don't want another center from Dallas. Big Damp didn't work out so well.

So what you're saying is that the reason Damp didn't work out so well was because he previously played for Dallas?

Damp didn't work out so well because he's ****. He's **** because he's ****. He's not **** because he's from Dallas. **** is ****. I'm just saying Dallas has **** centers.

Re: Nene a long shot?
Give me Nene, he can score, hit fts, play 30 mins a game and get me 15 points
I'll do a sign and trade for Mike Miller for him, anybody who wouldn't
Nene>Mike Miller
Haslem can stay just cause he's a nice guy.
I rather keep James Jones than Mike Miller anyway. At least James Jones can hit a damn shot.

Re: Nene a long shot?
Nobody is saying we won't trade Mike Miller for Nene but Mike Miller took a pay cut to sign in MIami and when healthy was good for us and is also really good friends with Udonis Haslem and LeBron James but if trading him means we get Nene even LeBron and Haslem will probably say yes.I just don't see the Nuggets doing it though they could find a lot better value for the number 2 center in the NBA especially if Nene is willing to do a sign and trade.

Re: Nene a long shot?
Damp was old as hell. He actually sucked for Dallas as well.
I think he was used wrong but what player isn't used wrong with Spo around.
Tyson said something like "I heard they do it big in Dallas, and not just 1, or 2 or 3, etc" mocking LeBron. And said when the Big 3 were "celebrating" (why can't people understand that was a WELCOME party?) he was celebrating in his gym that he didn't get traded to the Heat. Said there were two celebrations going on lol.
So yeah he doesn't and didn't want to be here, and he's a hell of a player but no thanks.
Btw, Chandler probably said that because Riley offered MILLER and Pittman for Chandler when he was with the Bobcats. And I think the 2nd round pick, not sure. But Miller was offered for a trade before he even played lol. So I wouldn't be surprised if he was up for auction again if a sweet deal comes along. I'm surprised though Riley would offer Pittman. Though at the time Pittman was 400lbs and wasn't going to play because he was severely overweight. Hopefully Pittman can contribute... same with Miller.

We should get Invite Nene and Dalembert to Bosh's wedding... then Riley/staff who have been given permission to attend can sneak off for a minute and make a secret deal

Re: Nene a long shot?
Nene, Dalembert, Chandler...whoever accepts tge MLE from the Heat is my guy. We get one of those three and we're virtually unbeatable. With Chalmers' maturation, Cole's defensive tenacity and ability to push the ball, Haslem's grit, Anthony's energy off the bench, and Miller's all around game, as well as the Big 3 (and an offensive assistant!!!!!!) Miami looks incredible going into the season (if their is one). I'd still like James Jones and a defensive wing stopper, but that's more utility than regular rotation...

Re: Nene a long shot?
The more I read about the owners and there determination to break the players down and make drastic cuts to team spending, I would say we need to focus figuring out a way to keep what we have. With that said, all these other teams, I guess will have the same issues, as far as spending constraints.
Chalmers played well in the finals at times, but I just dont think we can depend on him, and I dont see him maturing, evrytime I think the guy may have turned the corner, he does something that makes we want to choke him.
There are some NBA people that think that Cole will be the guy by mid season. If there is a mid season. I still like Chalmers and Anthony coming off the bench.
I would actually like to see a our starting line up be Troy Murphy, Bosh, James, Wade, Cole with a bench of Miller, Haslem, Shane Battier, Anthony, Chalmers, I would love to be able to add Troy Murphy and Shane Battier while Murphy I think is a real possibility, Battier is a long shot I think.
My thinking is all the talk of Dalembert is a big reach, potentially you are asking a guy to give up 2-3 million per year no one is gonna do that, 500,000-700,000 maybe (annually) 2-3 million I just dont see it. 2-3 million is probably conservative. Chandler and Nene are just pipe dreams. These guys will earn 10 to 12 million per year. Not arguing just my opinion.

A little inside info :
I'm from Brazil, and I met Nene one time because we went to the same church and the Pastor introduce me to him. He is a VERY nice guy that dont care about clubs and partys. He is the sponsor of a lot of gospel bands and helps a lot the comunity. I also must say that, in Brazil we dont have the american idea of giving up 10 Million just to win a ring, and the fact that with that kind of money he can help all the people that he is helping and have financial security for the rest of his life, I just dont see him playing with us for 5 M a year if somebody else offers him like 60 M for 5 years. Just my 2 cents.

A lot could have changed since then. You never know. Being on a team like the Nuggets who have wanted to win for a long time but couldnt because of the West's depth might really get to a person. I hope to God that he really wants to win a few championships cause him on the Heat would be deadly, he's the best fit possible for us at Center.
On another note, a S&T with Denver will absolutely mean parting with Udonis Haslem. Denver was very interested in him last summer and was the team offering the higher amount of money to come play for them. The fact that he stuck with us tells me we won't be trading him but you never know.
I think MM+Joel+Pick would be a solid trade for Nene, I just don't think the salary would be enough for those 2 players.
We'll all have to wait and see on how this new CBA plays out in terms of cap space and exceptions, then we can start wondering about Nene or any other UFA center.
Yeah Baby!

Re: Nene a long shot?
Denver wanted Haslem when they were making one last attempt at a title. At this point, if Nene goes insan S&T, Miller/Haslem isn't what Denver would want anyway, a team like Houston with young cheap talent would be the direction. Nene at MLE is Miami's only chance and it is remote.

Re: Nene a long shot?
Dampier did kind of suck once he hit Dallas; he even lost his starting job to Diop by the time the 06 Finals rolled around.

Re: Nene a long shot?
Firstly - no guarantee there's gonna be MLE.
Secondly - no guarantee there's gonna be S&T ability.
Thirdly - even if Nene wanted to S&T here, no way Denver accepts MM, JA and UD - they'd almost certainly rather let him walk for nothing, than commit $12m per year in role players.
Fourthly - Nene will get big offers in FA, as he's like the best player available.

There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Just read that Nene declined a 4 year/50 million dollar extension to hit free agency. Guy is looking to get paid.. he will definitely not sign for the MLE anywhere.

12.5 a year to probably UNDER 6 mil a year (assuming mle will get lowered, if not removed completely) in perhaps his last chance to get a big contract and as someone mentioned earlier the most coveted free agent target? sounds like a joke to me, and please don't bring up that the big 3 sacrificed this and that they're still making 110 mil...

Re: Nene a long shot?
Its very unlikely but I think we've seen what happens when we doubt this guy...

But tbh, I'd be ecstatic if Dalembert signs with the Heat,Nene would just be a great +.
