Yeah, I like Kirk. Hey, Suns are buying out Vince Carter. Crazy.

Nash to Miami is dumb enough that our own posters can scold themselves, we don't need tools from other boards to do it for us.

So I'm a tool now? Sore loser, much?

I didnt realize this board was for regulars only. A least I didnt start a "Lebron is the biggest choker" or a "OMG they missed so many free throws" thread." Its going to be a long offseason w/ the potential of a lockout so get used to visitors to your board.

And trust me, you don't want him either.

He's a much worse player than advertised. Most fans and commentators gush over him cause he plays hard on D and he's Scrappy Doo and he's the Great White Hope (well, he was Chicago's Great White Hope). He got overrated like crazy on their boards.

The reality is he's horrible on offense:

- a ton of overdribbling in the same Fing spot
- horrible decisions on the fastbreak (bad passes, missed layups, pull-up 3's on 2-on-1 and 3-on-1 situations - that he misses, of course)
- bad shot selection
- bad court vision
- no playmaking skills whatsoever
- bad decisions

Whoever has been unhappy with Chalmers' mistakes, will go insane after 2-3 games watching Hinrich.

I think our PG position needs a guy who can bring the ball over half court responsibly, then give it up to Wade/Bron, move around on the three point line off the ball and get open for kick outs, make threes at a respectable or better rate, with consistency. And then on defense, be able to guard 1s and 2s.

Kirk does that. We know he could defend Wade as well as anyone, so he has some combination of instinct and athleticism. We know he shoots 38% from 3 for his career. We know he can bring the ball up.

Maybe I need to watch more of him, but my problems with Chalmers are that he looks afraid bringing the ball up and gets ripped in the backcourt too often, lets dudes go by him on D, and even though his 3 point % is okay, he is very inconsistent and doesn't make guys pay for leaving him wide open all the time - seems to shoot the same % whether open or guarded, and often airballs those open ones - very frustrating.

We don't need PG playmaking, its a bonus, we just need capable handles. That is why Bibby's skills were a little wasted here. Also Bibby couldn't defend.

Why can't the Heat have a play maker at the point guard position? The more play makers on the court at one time, the more dynamic the Heat's offense could "potentially" be.Couldn't Dwyane and Lebron learn to play off the ball more?If they did,it would make them even more deadlier than they are now.A dribble up,pass the ball, and roam for the open 3 type of point guard is alright for this team, but give me a play maker at the point any day.I really hope the Heat is able to draft the Reggie Jackson kid. That kid has loads and loads of potential.

Nash is an underrated shooter. He wouldn't need to pound the rock, he can knock down the open 3. I wouldn't mind him next season, but beyond that it's a stretch. He's just getting too old. Those vets didn't do much for us this past playoffs. Of all the vets, I think Juwan Howard gave us the most in the postseason. PEACE.

I watched enough of Kirk Hinrich to know he's a bonehead that gets overrated like crazy by fans and the media, and that's mainly because he's white and tries hard on defense.

As a player he's really dumb, and that's the LAST thing you want in your PG. And, unlike Chalmers, he doesn't have lack of experience as an excuse.

Speaking of overrated former Bulls players, I think Ben Gordon would fit much better, as long as he's not asked to handle the ball, just shoot it.

Give Gordon the open shots Bibby had and he's making 60% of them.
Gordon had a HUGE series in 2009 against Boston and he can hit a last second shot like a mofo.

If he'd somehow be amnesty-ed and could be had for cheap, he'd be my choice for starting PG.

As a Suns fan who's hanging around the Heat board because he's bored, I can tell you something about Nash.
Nash is not a spot up shooter. He shoots off the dribble.
He carried our scrub team to a game under .500 so I'm sure he can turn your bench into "something special" (only to be overpaid by someone when contract is up).

For those who were saying it's bad because Wade and Lebron have to learn how to play off-the-ball, they have to do so anyways, sooner or later. At least with Nash here you guys will have the scariest pick and roll combo known to mankind (Nash and Lebron - oh sh-t).

His defense is overstated. It really isn't that bad.

As for whether if you'll get him in the upcoming season, the answer is no. Our FO and owner incline to keep butts in the seats at the stadium (our fans are right up there with yours in terms of loyalty). There's a slim chance he'll get traded let alone getting bought out.

Just my two cents.

Whatever!!!!

Are you telling us that if possible Miami should take on the older Nash than Hinrich????
If these two are both in their prime, I'll probably take Nash ahead of Hinrich. At these point in their career, Hinrich is the better choice coz he can defend and space the floor for Wade and Bron to operate.

I agree if Nash was to get bought out he would sign with the Mavs and split the minutes at the Point with Kidd keeping both very fresh.

I believe point-guard should be the first priority for Miami this off-season as their defense is stellar and Dalembert will not be a huge upgrade over Anthony. Wade and Lebron need someone to take over the ball-handling duties from them that can make plays without grinding the clock down and getting shot clock violations. Im not sure whether those two can play off the ball as Lebron just seems to stand around the 3-point line and look around, but Im certain Nash can help them with this.

Please Miami, get it done! Nash is the most likeable guy in the NBA and he should get a ring or at the very least, get a chance to play in the finals.

You must think Steve Nash has literally NO self- respect dont you.

Oh wait, you're a Heat fan. My bad for thinking you had any moral standards at all.

Only in your dreams will Nash play for Miami. We don't need a TRUE PG, we have too many ball-dominant players that adding another would a regression to our offense.

Well said. Miami basically just needs a guy who can defend and shoot from the outside at that position.

Why the hell would you even say "Oh wait, you're a Heat fan. My bad for thinking you had any moral standards at all." On the Heat forum?
