starting from scratch draft (14th pick)

Post#1 » by asdfgh » Mon Jul 4, 2011 8:31 pm

Assuming that all teams' rosters were cleared and there was a draft with the Clippers having the 14th pick, who would you guys pick? The following players would be unavailable.

Chicago: Rose
Portland: James
Cleveland: Howard
Dallas: Durant
Miami: Griffin
New York: Wall
Utah: Wade
LA Lakers: Deron Williams
Orlando: Paul
Golden State: Anthony
Boston: Bryant
San Antonio: Nowitzki
OKC: Westbrook
LA Clippers: ?

I don't know about everyone else here, but I'd go with Love.

Stoudemire, Aldridge and even Gasol have to be considered, but Love has them all beat when it comes to age. He's the best rebounder in the league, a nice passer, has range out to the perimeter and no significant injury issues. Aldridge would probably be my next choice.

Alright I'm gonna be a homer here, but I think I'd seriously consider taking EJ here. Aldridge would be a fine choice as well.

How come we only have the 14th pick tho :P

Aldridge, Steph Curry, E.J. are legit contenders. At #14, I would probably go w/ a Flyer though, my choice would be Rajon Rondo.
Rondo has already proven he has the gonads to lead a Veteran Team as a youngster, w/ a Ring to prove it.

W/ the #14 Pick the Clips should pick Rajon Rondo ( & we stole him!)

I'm going with Stoudemire, the other players that I came up with were already taken. I would rather stick with Blake but he was already taken.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Disagree w/ Amare over Rondo
I'll tkae a young Pt. Guard over an aging Forward,Plus Rondo knows how to win a Championship

^ Amare wasn't surrounded with talent in Pierce, Allen, and Garnet. I'll take Love or Stoudemire over Rondo at the moment. I'll take Amare just over Love, because he has proven to translate his success even without a Nash caliber type of point guard.

My pick at #14 would be Al Horford. A solid player, maybe a borderline all star, but he plays both ends of the court and is an efficient scorer with a good FG%. His defense puts him slightly ahead of Love in my list.

I would have to go with Amare. The NBA is a superstar league, and he is one of the only superstars left.

I'd take Zach Randolph. He had an inferior squad to Amare in a tougher conference and did more with them. 20/12 for the season and 22/11 during the postseason. Try to get a defensive C next to him such as a Joakim Noah in round 3 and hope EJ is available in round 2, then round it up with two good defenders who can knock down shots.
