Pursue Jerebko?

Post#1 » by Colby » Tue Jul 5, 2011 6:37 am

I think this dude could potentially be a great option for us at SF heading forward, and a seamless transition from old AK to a young guy, still with some untapped potential who does a lot of the same things, and has good size. Solid rebounder, hustles his butt off, and from what I remember can hit a shot or two.

He missed last year with a torn achilles, which is troubling of course. But if he seems to be able to recover from it, I really think we should toss a good chunk of the MLE his way (provided there is one).

Anybody else have any thoughts on this guy? Perhaps someone more familiar with Detroit who has seen him more? He just seems like a perfect fit for us going forward.

He doesn't play like a SF, and can't shoot....... So, I don't think he fits this team as it currently is......

I'd rather have Hayward, and even CJ at SF. We really need a shooting wing, especially with the drafting of Burks.

And Hayward is our starting SF. Also CJ will probably be the first to spell either Burks and/or Hayward

I would MUCH rather have Jerebko than CJ! Everyone labels CJ as a shooter, why is that? Actually... I guess that makes sense. CJ is a shooter, just not a maker. I've always like Jerebko, but that's gonna be a tough injury to recover from.

Is Jerebko any better as a shooter then CJ? Cj is very capable of shooting lights out on any night, the problem is he is just as capable of being ice cold. Lets not forget that 40 pt game cj had. But like I said there's been too many nights he'll go 2 for 13...

in short, at SF, CJ > Jerebko

CJ has also been given ample opportunity to improve his approach to the game. CJ's problem isn't that he has nights where his shot isn't falling. Every player has those nights. CJ's problem is that he refuses to believe that his shot isn't falling, so he will continue to shoot regardless of the outcome. CJ is the personification of the scene in the Matrix where Neo and Trinity shoot up the lobby. Sure they got a few good shots in, but mostly they just shot a ton of bricks.

agreed

"if you're a shooter, keep shooting". He seems to have that stuck in his head, which is good if you're open however he seems to take that mindset too far and will shoot terrible shots. If he gets an open shot, I'm not screaming "no dont shoot it", but i do scream when he jacks it up like he's kobe. I'm not saying he's a kyle korver "shooter", i'm just saying he's better then Jerebko.

lets not turn this into another CJ thread...

Jerebko is a power forward, and a very good one at that.
