Too bad we had to rain delay this game and then come back and have JPA get absolutely smoked on the hand/wrist by a Papeldouche fastball. Met's request for Molina will most certainly come true now.. Careful what you wish for fella's...

I don't think that's the first time Papelbon has hit one of our players in the wrist. Ah well, JPA needed some time off with his thumb injury anyway.

I'll consider this game a success if none of our players' swings are messed up.

If JPA has to sit for a few games who gets called up? D'Arnaud could share time with Molina and learn a few things watching him.

Or if its too early for d'Arnaud to get the call, our options are utility catchers Budde or Jeroloman?

If i remember right, Budde has some major league experience already.

It is a little bizarre, but it does happen. Witness Doc's incredible struggles against the Texas Rangers over the years...he carries a 5.17 ERA over 132.1 IP.

"I don’t know if they see the ball well off me, if I tip something … I’m about as lost as I can be against this team," said Romero, now 2-6 with an 8.08 ERA in career starts versus Boston. "I’ve done everything, I’ve tried everything.

"It’s just getting back on my own side against these guys and making quality pitches. I’ll be fine."

Honestly, this sounds like a confidence issue to me. If he has one or two good starts against this team at some point and gets past his mental block, it may all go away.

I'd tell Romero not to sweat it. 3 extra runs were scored with 2 outs after Rajai Davis broke back on a catchable looper to center in their big inning (4th, i think?). All runs earned... all fall at the feet (literally) of Davis.

(not saying Romero wasn't labouring out there...)

Not as incredible as Romero against the Red Sox.

Romero is now 2-6 with an 8.08 ERA in 11 career starts against the Red Sox.

Didn't see it live, but it sure looks like Papelbon balked on this play:

Right before Escobar's single...
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."
