Philadelphia Phillies' contracts that come off the book at the end of the season:

Raul Ibanez: 3 yrs. $31.5 mil (09-11)
Brad Lidge: 3 yrs. $37.5 mil (09-11)
Roy Oswalt: 5 yrs. $73 mil (07-12) (Has made it known he's retiring at the end of the season)
Cole Hamels: 3 yrs. $20.5 mil (09-11)
Jimmy Rollins: 5 yrs. $ 40 mil (06-10) (club option for 2011 activated)
Ryan Madson: 3 yrs. $12 mil (09-11)
Danys Baez: 2 yrs. $ 5.25 mil (10-11)
Kyle Kendrick: 1 yr. $2.75 mil (11)
Brian Schneider: 2 yrs. $2.75 mil (10-11)
Ross Gload: 2 yrs. $2.6 mil (10-11)
Ben Francisco: 1 yr. $1.17 mil (11)

And 23 other deals are coming off the books.

Can't wait to see Jose Reyes in a Phillies uniform.

Hamels is due for a big pay raise though. He's the only one of those guys I see remaining a Philly. Maybe Madson too.

I'm sure Hamels could be convinced to take a slight paycut. He see what Cliff Lee did plus if we're forced to shell out we can, Oswalt isn't coming back. Madson will probably be resigned, same with Lidge, although I think Lidge is done. Hopefully Francisco is retained as well.

We'll still have enough to sign Reyes.

Who are the Angles playing? I remember when Weaver went up against Kershaw.

Outpitched. Outmatched. Still one of my favorites though. His strikeout ratio is insane.

Seattle, 1st of a 4 game series.

weaver outclassed kershaw pretty well last matchup and got a ND the 1st time after going 7 IP and giving up just 1 ER.

I was playing a show in Simi Valley and Weaver walked in during the time of his rookie holdout. I told him he should just take the damn money and f'ing play. He took it pretty well, but i guess he was right to hold out after all.
