starting from scratch draft (40th pick)
Hey guys, I'm continuing the draft and it's the Bocats' turn again. Since I saw that many of you complained because I gave you Amare, I should explain that the reason I picked the first name mentioned was because I wasn't sure how much interest there would be in the game. But if you prefer I can wait until we have two pages and then count the votes, as long as that happens within 24 hours. The following players are unavailable and remember you already have Amare.
Also to address the question regarding the draft order, I picked attendance figures to reward teams with rabid fanbases. Sure, it may benefit big markets a little more, but you also have teams like Portland and Utah at the top that are small markets.
Chicago: Rose
Portland: James
Cleveland: Howard
Dallas: Durant
Miami: Griffin
New York: Wall
Utah: Wade
LA Lakers: Deron Williams
Orlando: Paul
Golden State: Anthony
Boston: Bryant
San Antonio: Nowitzki
OKC: Westbrook
LA Clippers: Love
Phoenix: Curry
Denver: Aldridge
Washington: Rondo
Detroit: Irving
Toronto: Bogut
Houston: Hayes
Charlotte: Stoudemire, Iggy
Atlanta: Smith, Noah
Milwaukee: Favors, Horford
Minnesota: Gordon, Gay
Philadelphia: Bosh, Bynum
New Orleans: Derrick Williams, T. Chandler
Memphis: P. Gasol, M. Gasol
NJ: Harden, Lopez
Sacramento: Randolph, Cousins
Indiana: Granger, Oden

Re: starting from scratch draft (40th pick)
My vote is for Iggy or Joe Johnson.
With him and Amare on the same team we can try for the biggest LT in NBA history.
Like P.A.Y.D.R.O said the other day, we should be able to pick up a Gortat/McGee/DeAndre type in round #3 or #4.

Re: starting from scratch draft (40th pick)
Ok, I've thought about it and the pick should be Iggy.
Then our 3rd round pick should be Gortat, Ibaka, McGee, DeAndre etc and hope like hell that Ray Allen is still there when we pick in the 4th round.

I'd be happy with Iguodala or Tyreke.

Re: starting from scratch draft (40th pick)
i 2nd iggy then.
who else will back iggy? he gives us lock down perimeter defense, good passing and rebounding for his position and decent 2nd option on offense, great 3rd option.

Iggy is fine. I like Tyreke but honestly, there are many players similar to him in the league (hybrid PG/SG scorer). It's easier to get a Tyreke than an Iggy.

Re: starting from scratch draft (40th pick)
What about Nash? Are we too committed to a fake future not to take him? He's got proven chemistry with Amare, is still amongst the best offensive players in the league... all we have to do from there is get a couple of defenders and the team is ready to go.
Joe Johnson was very average this year, I don't think any of the centers are really worthwhile, and Ellis makes me nervous. I think Martin is the main other guy to consider, he's proven he can be super efficient (.600 TS%!) while shouldering a heavy load. He's a pure scorer, doesn't bring anything else to the table, but that's a hell of an A+ skill to have.
Iguodala is okay, he's obviously one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, would provide some ballhandling ability on the wing and is a good rebounder for his size. But he's not much of a scorer, and in these early rounds I think that's the thing to get. Picking up some defensive stoppers who can shoot a 3 later shouldn't be that hard to do.

Re: starting from scratch draft (40th pick)
For a one shot title run, I'll jump on Nash. Don't care anything about Iggy other than his defense and like you said you could get that later.

Re: starting from scratch draft (40th pick)
as for those talking about making a quick title run, if that is the case, then why not pierce, duncan, garnett or manu?
i would stick with good players, in their prime but with several years left. guys around the same age as amare. so i am sticking with nene (2nd vote is iggy). amare and nene would compliment each other well. both quick and can run. both can defend pf an c.

Re: starting from scratch draft (40th pick)
i deleted the poll. didnt want to create more confusion by having random drive by posters voting.
so far we have
nash - paydro, chabber and jaruff
iggy - slam, walt
nene - fats
so how about to make things easier... i change my vote to iggy.
which makes it tied, 3 votes for nash, 3 votes for iggy.
someone come and put this thing over the top.
