Alright, since I now have your attention, let me hereby introduce to you two new members to the fabulous Soccer moderating team. 8-)

First of all, we'd like to welcome LittleOzzy who has been a long time moderator, poster and contributer on several boards, mainly the Raptors and OT Canada boards. For a few months he's also been a huge contributor on the Soccer board as you can see. Coming to this board, and now moderating it, must be like heaven compared to the Raptors board, no?

And secondly, we'd like you all to welcome a long time poster and contributer to the boards, 5DOM. He's been fantastic on the Soccer board and this step was only a matter of time. Also, ever since Slava retired, we now have an EPL fan becoming a mod.

Still Bundesliga >> EPL 8-)

Anyway, let's celebrate this by having a beer or nine. Obviously, since 5DOM is the newest member of the mod team, he's paying :shy:

I suppose it has been thought about but I wanted to ask it anyways to the moderators.

The soccer thread is organized a bit differently than other areas...particularly the NBA. It isn't set up by teams yet. I imagine that is because of the lack of interest per team. Is that why? Maybe a thumb tac could be used somehow or another. I have to be honest here; I don't have a lot of interest in say "the official Austrialian A-league thread" or other threads just made up to ones liking. It gets kinda cluttered with a lot to sort through.

thoughts? I might even consider moderating an RSL board, but that needs to be discussed first. No need to moderate myself.

Well, it'd be hard to have a team-based structure cause there would be hundreds of extra forums for all the European leagues. Perhaps an own MLS forum would make sense, but it's still iffy whether there is enough interest. Empty forums are more discouraging than some clutter, I think.

We can sticky the most important threads if necessary, but they usually stay up anyway.

I'm sure Ozzy won't mind some help if you wanna take care of the MLS thread.

I have always felt RealGM could use an MLS section to catch on with a growing North American league.

I would suggest forums set up in the following way:

I feel like this set up we have currently in one forum is fine for now, but as we grow so should the areas we can post in. I know not a lot follow MLS, but even having separate forums for each confederation would help. It's a North American forum and we should focus on MLS.

Never going to happen, but I can dream.

I don't think we're at that level for Soccer yet.

Football and Baseball were, for a better part of RealGM Message Board's life, single-level boards with only 1 section dedicated to each MLB, NHL and NFL. I think it took around 3-4 years until Howard and the Admin team decided to open up the MLB/NFL/NHL sections, and even then some team boards still sit quite empty. It's hard to generate much activity when there are other message boards out there who had already established a user base.

Also, congrats 5DOM and LittleOzzy!
