Fields and Balkman for him Id offer. They get a cheaper player who can play 2 positions on another cheap deal 4 another year and we get a real 2 guard.

Not too hot on a guy that responded with the following when asked about whether he'd give the Wizards a home team discount..."Momma didn't raise no dumb boy" :D

Seriously though, pass...Nick Young is just not a smart basketball player (or person depending on who you ask). Borderline mentally handicapped is what some Wizard fans used to accuse him of being before he had a career year in his contract year.

Congrats. About time someone beat the awfulness of the "Vince Carter for Fields" posting a few weeks ago.

A backcourt of Young/Billups would lose a Basketball-IQ Test against a pair of Landry's Sneakers.

Bored Indy fan here,

Whats Brandon Rush's value to you guys. He is a smart player overall and hits 3's at around 42% and he is a good defender.

I like Rush, not as a starter but a 6th/7th man at about 25 mpg. But theres something about his game that he hasnt been able to take to the next level, maybe he lacks the iq or the instinct to be aggressive thats the impression I get.

But Id take him and a resigned Foster for Turiaf and Balkman, doubt you guys would but thats about all Id do.
Trust but verify.

How about something like:

Amare for Iggy, Speights, + more value?

Assuming Philly would want an Amare/Brand front court.

Why? I don't believe Amare will stay healthy for the length of his deal, he doesn't play defense, wasn't exactly rebounding well the last half of the season, and since NY thinks Howard or Paul will be coming, this deal is made with that in mind. It would be a big two of Melo/Howard or Paul with Iggy, whose a great wing defender and good play maker. Be a more balance roster, plus he won't be on a max deal, so depending on the new CBA, there could be room for more really good role players.

Or:

Amare for Granger, Tyler + filler / value.

Amare/Hib front court for Indy.

Somewhat same reasoning for NY, but only if Granger would be able to play SG.

How so? Howard or Paul is coming to NY for sure!!!! At least that is what NY's FO thinks. Why not build a better and more balanced roster? And most likely some draft picks or something else will be coming NY's way. Wasn't sure of what other value to add.

You see, that is why I can't take your posts seriously. How do you know that the NY FO thinks that "Howard or Paul is coming to NY for sure!!!!"? Do you sit in the meetings and overhear these things or do you know the janitor who cleans the executive washroom and he heard rumblings about it?

As for your deals, trading Amar'e to get guys like Granger (who I think is seriously overrated) and Iggy (who plays the same position as Melo) isn't appealing to me. Our team is already small as it is and the best we get from trading Amar'e is Hansbrough or Speights as our big men? No thanks.

NY announced they will be only signing players to 1 year deals. Who else are they saving the cap space for besides Paul and Dwight? Perhaps I should have adding Deron to the possible list. But if they are going to hurt the team for another year, seems they are confident they'll get one of those guys.

And like I said, there should be more value coming back NY's way.

Building on the idea:

Amare to Indy.
Granger, Rush, Billups to NO.
Tyler, Paul, Okafor to NY.

Not sure if Indy would want to give up those three players, and I think NO could want more value, but it is a decent return if Paul says he wants out.

Then build a defensive team with outside shooting around Melo and Paul. And Okafor actually dominated against the Heat this year, only 2 games but 17.5 PPG on 89% FG with 9.5 boards.

Are these the kinds of deals bandied about on the general board? If so, glad I does not read

No, no one posts good deals like these on the general board. Trade board is where you post them.

I don't think you could get Amare on the plane.. I personally would do it without the Hornets as its a better deal.

I think Rush for your 2012 first round pick (if you have it) is a good deal. That pick is probably around 20-25 next year anyway.

A better idea.

Amare, Turief, Douglas to NO.
Billups, Balkman to Pistons.

Paul, Okafor, RIP, Villanueva to NY.

Send Fields to one of the two, if they want more. This assumes the Pistons want to dump both of those guys. Also assumes NO would accept Amare for Paul, most likely with an eye to flip him for some rebuilding pieces.

That team could beat the Heat. Superstar at two positions, outside shooting at 4 positions, solid starting center, RIP is a great "role player" at SG. PF a bit weak, but same in Miami. :D

How exactly is that terrible?

It does add salary, but the "big three" in NY is fantasy, might as well get a big two and surround them with players that will make a strong and balanced team.

Hey genius, no PF has led a team to the title on his own. Pau had Kobe (did nothing in Memphis), Duncan had Parker and the Flopper, Garnet had Pierce, Allen, and Rondo, Dirk had Kidd, Terry, Chandler, etc. Most of them had a good team around them and most could play D unlike Amare. And Amare isn't next at anything, when Melo came to town, Amare basically let him have the lead.

No where in my post did I say Paul would lead the team to a title, learn to read genius!

Okafor would anchor the defense in the middle and his offensive game isn't that bad (destroyed the Heat), Melo we all know, RIP is a hard worker with a game that will "age" well, and Paul can run the offense. Obviously Villanueva will be the weak link in the starting line up, but he will at least give Melo, Paul, and Okafor room in the paint with his outside shooting.

Return to New York Knicks
