Real Salt Lake Vs. Dallas 7-9-11

Post#324 » by nghedman » Sat Jul 9, 2011 2:34 pm

Game tonight for RSL thought I would set this up.
RSL vs Dallas
9:00pm EST
Rio Tinto

Couldn't find a pregame setup on the internet but this will do.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2 ... o-game-set

Who's going? I am! Just got season tickets for the rest of the year.

I hope the officiating is better than last game because I'll tell you what. If RSL doesn't address this with Fifa or whoever this is a real buzz kill not only to a game but to the league in general. How can someone watch a game and know it isn't really a true competition. That is why player gambling is such a no no in sports; and bad officiating is on the same level. This HAS TO BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED FAST!

Maybe instant replay needs to be used, or I still don't know why they don't but chips in the ball for the goal line crossing. It is nearly impossible for the linesman to be watching the offsides line and then after a shot is taken travel as fast as the ball and get to the goal line to see if the ball went completely over or not.

Real won 2-1 but the game was still a very tight game, suspensful with every possession counting. Real went up by 1 and didn't get the second until extra time. After the goal was score the ref blow his whistle and the game was over. Nice cap to the game for real. I would say they outplayed FC Dallas and without looking at the stats I would say they won the possession count and shots on goal.

Dallas seemed to play for counters and almost scored with the ball drippling over the line and I think it was Grabavoy that ran up to it and kicked it free. Good thing for the MLS and Real that Grabavo did that because they was a major MISS by the referee on the play I would bet there was an offsides on the play...very drastically that was missed by the line judge and center judge, nothing. Someone was yelling at the line judge too, I think it was Johnson. Man that line judge missed a bad one there. And he didn't have the excuse of running to the goal line becuase he was already there.

Espindola the forward looked great, hustling, looked very fresh from his injury, anxious to play. Johnson looked off with his trapping, he is better than tonights game. Beckermanthe holding mid started finally, back from his injury. And the defense did fine without Borchard and his red card fine (Shame on the MLS for not fixing that) Wow!! Olava the defender sure is fast, and he showed it tonight, had some great run down stops and one play the ref was kinda forced to pull a yellow card on Olave but I say he is just strong and big and fast for any size let a long his, and it isn't usual to see a guy dominate like him without fouling yet he does. But the ref gave one out anyway.

Ramondo the keeper almost started a goal by starting a possession quickly, and moving it up the field. He is good. I haven't seen that out of him much but he has a good eye on the field.

To make it worse for that keeper it went right between his legs. I mean being a poor keeper is one thing but this is just terrible.

The keeper got blocked out. Partially from Donavon, partially from of his own player.

It was lucky I wouldn't call it any more than that. But sometime... as they say, you set up your own luck. It was a calculated shot.

What's up with the Chicago Fire?

12 ties in 19 games? I thought that was impossible :D
