and right when I say it, New England gets one back on a free kick.

Shouldn't have been a foul though.

4-1 final.

So what did everyone think of the game? How did New England look against one of the best teams in the world?

Damn, Macheda loves playing the MLS sides.

Well taken goals though, both of them. Him and Owen show natural striker's instincts no matter how rusty they are.

The twins looked great. Tenacious and energetic as always and Ando played a good game.

I think a loan to a premier league side might do Macheda a world of good.

Honestly can;t give a positive evaluation. They looked clueless when they had their little share of possession and once the activity upfront stepped up the defense looked ragged and stretched all over.

What do you expect?

The difference between top European soccer teams and top MLS teams is even bigger than in basketball NBA vs. Europe matchups.

Oh I understand that, I just figured L.A. would at least be able to keep it close.

They would get beaten by 6 or more in a regular league match.
A few seasons ago Landon Donovan was in Munich for a few months. After he left the coach of their 2nd team said about Donovan: He wouldn't even play in my team.
And they played in the 3rd league here in Germany back then. :dontknow:
There's an undeniably big gap between European and American soccer. Teams fighting against relegation in the big leagues here in Europe would be instant contenders in America.

MLS is so sub-par compared to European leagues that its not even funny...but I think everyone knows that already.

Real Madrid treated the game against the Galaxy for exactly what it was for them; an exhibition or preseason game to warmup and sharpen up for their season. We all know the Galaxy tried their damn best to win the game however. Cristiano Ronaldo sh*tted on LA's defense in the 2nd half with that rocket goal.

And as someone mentioned already, the skill/talent gap between top MLS teams and top Euro teams is even larger than that of top NBA teams and top Euro basketball teams.

Toure left the pitch due to a knee injury I think. Looks pretty bad. Man City is playing a man down.

1-0 Van
