How would teams already above the hard cap manage it?

The difficulty is LA are already on a ridiculous payroll (and theoretically Orlando and Dallas won't be far behind if they re-sign their FA's.

$100m limit is sensible, as it gives them just about enough breathing space to work with. Also, if a team like New Orleans finished with $99m payroll, I expect people would rank them accordingly (bankrupt!)
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

On the draft a suggestion I made in the past is that picks have an appointed time to be slotted since we are giving three days. 2012 is considered a big draft and im sure people want to make their own picks example pick 1 8am est 2 9 am so a person can plan to log

In looking at some mock 2012 drafts to see who was touted and postions played, I see there is a phenom center who will be graduating from High School - Drummond. Please rule whether he will be eligible or will our draft pool be limited to those guys who have at least one year of college (as in the current CBA)?

usually the rule has been anyone listed on either draftnet or draftexpress mock drafts is illigible to be drafted

Good point - Draftnet includes him - Armond Drummond - who would be a high school grad entering the draft without college and Draft Express does not have him listed. There may be others and that's why it should be decided before the game. I recommend using the Existing CBA and not allowing kids that have not had college (or Euro eligible) to be drafted. But it should be decided now.

I think the issue with Drummond is that he has enough credits to graduate HS early and meets the age requirement. I think there was some loophole/gray area where he could possibly be eligible for the 2012 draft.

The draft as always will be with whomever is listed on draftexpress and nbadraftnet come days of draft.

and also as per usual draftexpress BPA will be chosen for those that miss their pick and have neglected to send in a list of choices.

I read he was hoping the new Collective Bargaining Agreement would allow kids to go from High School to the NBA and it said noting about credits or age, etc. Since on board included him (draftnet) and one did not (draftexpress) is he in or out. Make a decision before we get to the draft.

This is a legitimate possibility for Drummond because the NBA rules state that, in order to be eligible for the Draft, a player must be 19-years-old and a year removed from high school. In 2012 Drummond will be 19-years-old and a year removed from his original graduating class.

A couple questions.

How are sign-and-trades handled in this game?
Will draft picks from this past draft be signed to 100% or 120% of the rookie wage scale?
Allowed/not allowed to trade 1st RND picks in back-to-back years?

 seriously?

There was ZERO ambiguity in what I wrote.

IF a player is listed on at least 1 of the 2 mocks during our draft they are eligible to be drafted. Drummond is no exception.

To the few GMs without AIM - I would appreciate it greatly if you would get with the program as it helps with trade talks dramatically. :P

It is obviously not mandatory but is so much more convenient and not something that requires much effort to get started up.

thanks guys
