Trade # 36

Toronto Raptors and Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to the following trade:

Minnesota receives:
SF Corey Brewer ($3,059,000)

Toronto receives:
SG Wayne Ellington ($1,154,040)
SF Lazar Hayward ($1,097,520)

Toronto accepts. This deal works as Minnesota has the available cap room. Brewer was burued in the depth chart and we get two young pieces in return.

Minnesota trades its 14th and 15th guys on the roster for a wing who has a chance to crack the rotation or be an important trade chip

In one of the franchise's biggest blockbuster deals ever, the Minnesota Timberwolves are trading Kevin Love ($4,609,701), Derrick Williams ($4,746,480), Trevor Ariza ($6,790,640), and Brad Miller ($4,752,000) to the Portland TrailBlazers for Dwyane Wade ($15,691,000), Jared Dudley ($4,250,000), and Robin Lopez ($2,862,602).

MIN Outgoing: 20,898,821 (*1.25 = 26,123,526)
PHO Outgoing: 22,803,602

Minnesota ACCEPTS! We are ecstatic to bring a top-5 talent to Minnesota who is signed longterm. Wade grew up in Chicago and went to school in Wisconsin, so he is used to cold winters. Dudley and Lopez provide solid young backups for a team that just lost three of its best players.

(Trade #37)

Confirmed. Always tough losing a player like Wade but we feel this is a very good return for him. Williams is the darkhorse here, we feel the 2 pick in the draft has a ton of upside.

Trade #38

The Clippers and Knicks have a relatively small trade to announce.

The Clippers Receive:
PG Toney Douglas
2012 2nd Round Pick (via New York)

The Knicks Receive:
PG Eric Maynor

Clippers accept.

While we might be giving up the better pure point guard, we feel we are getting a much better fit at PG. Mo Williams has is issues, mainly defensively and that's one way we think that Douglas is a much better compliment to Mo Williams. Douglas is a slightly better three point shooter, but quite a bit better defender than Eric Maynor. We like both very much, but the chance to get an even swap AND pick up another second round pick to add to the mix is too much to pass up.

The New York Knicks and LA Clippers have agreed to the following:

NYK will send:

Toney Douglas $1,145,640
2012 2nd Round Pick

Clippers will send:

Eric Maynor $1,516,880

We accept! Wanted a more traditional PG to backup Billups.

#39 - The Hornets and T'Wolves have done business with each other again

Hornets outgoing:

Jarret Jack: $5,000,000
James Anderson: $1,402,540
Total salaries: $6,402,540

Hornets incoming:

Terrence Williams - $2,369,040
Corey Brewer - $3,059,000
Total salaries: $5,428,040*125%=$6,785,050

T'Wolves outgoing:

Terrence Williams - $2,369,040
Corey Brewer - $3,059,000
Total salaries: $5,428,040*125%=$6,785,050

T'Wolves incoming:

Jarret Jack: $5,000,000
James Anderson: $1,402,540
Total salaries: $6,402,540

Hornets accept. We do this deal to turn a luxury at the PG position and fill another positional need. T-Will is a guy we've always loved and feel he will fit in perfectly with the CP3/Joe Johnson backcourt. We also bring in a defensive specialist in Corey Brewer who we feel can really help us out on that end of the floor as well as with his improved shooting over the years.

P.S. Anyone who embarrasses Derek Fisher is alright in my book.

Wolves accept. We feel Jack is the ideal point guard both for backing up Rubio and playing next to Wade.

The Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed upon a three way trade.

The Lakers send Chris Bosh ($16,022,500), Andrew Bynum ($14,900,000), Nikola Pekovic($4,503,600), 2012 LAL 2nd, 2012 CHI 2nd, 2013 LAL 2nd, and 2013 LAL 1st in exchange for Dwight Howard ($18,091,770), and Gilbert Arenas ($19,269,307).

Lakers Incoming: $37,361,077
Lakers Outgoing: $35,426,100

The Magic send Dwight Howard ($18,091,770), and Gilbert Arenas ($19,269,307) in exchange for Chris Bosh ($16,022,500), Andrew Bynum ($14,900,000), and 2013 LAL 1st.

Magic Outgoing: $37,361,077
Magic Incoming: $30,922,500 X 1.25 = $38,653,125

The Cavaliers send TPE in exchange for Pekovic ($4,503,600), 2012 LAL 2nd, 2012 CHI 2nd and 2013 LAL 2nd.

Deal Works.

Sigh, in all my times playing this game, I've NEVER done a deal like this. I personally don't like this deal, but I've got the recent impression that Dwight would not stay with the franchise. I always though, in return, I wanted two things; a.) franchise sort block and b.) to shed Gilbert Arenas. I figure with this trade, I somewhat accomplish this goal. We're excited about Bynum, and feel he can develop into the 2nd best center in the NBA (especially with recent talks about using him more on offense and defense), and Bosh is another proven all-star that can return to his 20/10 level with more a featured role on offense. I still think we can stay competitive, with Allen, Nelson, and a solid bench, but we plan for more to come. Saying all this, I'm in a mood to make myself feel better, so I'm open to ANY trade offer from here on out.

Magic accept.

LAL accept. We NEVER thought we be the ones to get Dwight, but were happy to have him. He is the best C in this era, and also the most valuable player in the league IMO. We weren't getting the offers we wanted on Bynum or Bosh, so we're happy to trade them for a top 2 player. Getting Gilbert SUCKS, but I'm sure there's a way to move him. DWIGHT+KOBE=TITLE!

#41 - The Hornets and Los Sol have agreed to a deal!

Hornets outgoing:

Corey Brewer: $3,059,000
Total Salaries: $3,059,000

Hornets incoming:

Hakim Warrick: $4,250,000
2013 2nd rd pick
Total salaries: $4,250,000

Hakim Warrick: $4,250,000
2013 2nd rd pick
Total salaries: $4,250,000

Suns incoming:

Corey Brewer: $3,059,000
Total Salaries: $3,059,000

Hornets accept. We love this deal. We get an athletic forward who fits well with the core of CP3/Joe Johnson and Terrence Williams. We're gonna run with the bulls of Spain next year and Warrick is going to fit perfect as one of the bigs in out system. Though never averaged more than 26mpg in his career and never starting in more than 7 games in 3 seasons, he's always had a PER of 15+ each season and with better teammates, more playing time and having a more defined role on this team, we feel he will mesh well and flourish in Nawlins.

2015 2nd RND

New Jersey receives:
Cap Space

Raptors agree. We get a couple assets in the 2nd RND picks, and a nice scoring option off the bench in Farmar. Deal works because I have nearly $20 million in cap space.

Edited to correct the fact that I have to be over the cap to use TPE

We have a slight correction to this deal. New Jeresy did not own the 2012 2nd RND (via Chicago). Therefore, New Jersey Nets are sending the 2012 2nd RND (via MIami).

Confirmed. We shed a year off Warrick's contract and get some much needed perimeter defense. Brewer is still young and has potential to be a defensive stopper off the bench.

Phoenix and Charlotte have agreed on a deal

Marcin Gortat ($6,790,640)
Markieff Morris ($1,979,600)

= $8,770,240

for

Bismack Biyombo ($2,404,670)
D.J Augustin ($3,236,470)
Eduardo Najera ($2,750,000)

= $8,391,140

Phoenix accepts. Gortat was great, but he's already 26 and will want to get paid in a couple years. Biyombo is younger, cheaper, and we believe has potential to be a Ben Wallace type defensive force. Augustin stepped it up last year, and can hopefully become our future PG.

Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Hornets have agreed to the following trade:

New Orleans receives:
SF Quincy Pondexter ($1,153,800)
PF Derrick Caracter ($788,872)
C Johan Petro ($3,250,000)
2012 2nd RND (New Orleans)
2013 2nd RND (Toronto)

Toronto receives:
C Ian Mahinmi ($947,907)

Raptors agree to this deal as we need to clear valuable roster space. We hate to lose the 2nd RND picks, but we get to rent a young big for a year as well. SAlaries work as NOLA has cap room

Hornets accept. We use valuable cap space to add depth and future picks--one being our own 2012 pick--to our team. We love the prospect of another "Baby Shaq" in Caracter and we believe Quincy Pondexter has the potential to be a really serviceable SF in this league..maybe even a shutdown defender one day. And Petro is Petro..he'll be gone like the wind.

Atlanta and Dallas have agreed a trade.

Atlanta Trades

Marvin Williams - $8,050,000
2012 Atlanta 1st

Dallas Trades

Shawn Marion - $7,725,932

Why for Atlanta? We're looking to contend, and Marion just won a ring as arguably the 2nd best player in a Finals series. Yeah he's old, and yeah he doesn't bring it every night, but his versatility at either forward spot is exactly what I need.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.
