Marvin and Zaza for Josh Childress and Robin Lopez
Josh Childress has a worse contract than Marvin when it comes to money owed and years but he is more of what we need when it comes to skill set. Chillz is a cutter and slasher, who operates best on the baseline the Hawks don't have a single player like that. Marvin is another wanna-be jump shooter. Lopez has a lot of upside, Zaza is what he is and what he is has not helped us take the next step we have to try something different and small moves may be the way to go. Lopez is also in a contract year so that smells motivation.
Money breakdown We would send out about $33 Million over the lives of the contracts and they would send out about $30. If we wanted to re-sign Lopez that amount would increase though. We would save $3.35 million next year.

Re: Small Moves Could be the Way to Go
I rather die with Marvin's contract than replace him with a wing that can't do anything on offense outside of 5 feet and is on a longer deal. Wanting Lopez is also dubious considering that he doesn't rebound better than Zaza and his entire offensive efficiency could be attributed to Nash and his higher block % could be attributed to Nash again and Phoenix's system where a layup is an acceptable shot by an opposing team.
Really is a lose lose situation for the Hawks, the only possible appeal is Lopez but he doesn't offset the fact that Chills is a tremendous liability on a worse deal than Marv's.

I could do a Hakeem Warrick & Lopez for Marvin & future 2nd pick Deal. Gives us some depth, and a spot starter at center..

Your first sentence summarized my feelings as well. I always felt that Woodson utilized offensive positioning to maximize Childress at the detriment of others. He's release is too low and slow to succeed in the NBA and thankfully Phoenix paid him long term rather than us. Marvin's too timid, but he's not nearly as flawed for the position as Childress.

Phoenix has no need for Marvin or ZaZa.

Re: Small Moves Could be the Way to Go
Pietrus is probably going to be moved, if not then he is an expiring. Then Hill more than likely won't be coming back if he wants a ring badly. VC will be cut, which only leaves them with Dudley(Who was better off the bench) and Childress(Who seems to not be fitting in) on the wing. I think they could use Marvin, so they can keep Dudley coming off the bench.
