Hahaha, as I posted above READ WHAT WAS WRITTEN. I didn't say DeMarcus IS an incredible post defender. Here is what I said:

"Cousins' defense on guys like Bynum, Shaq/Perkins, etc. really was incredible."

Any inference beyond that is completely up to you. I don't mind debating a point, but misquoting or inference as a foundational basis for argument? Nah, homey don't play that.

I really hope the Kings don't look to add anything else on the wing. I really think Honeycutt could be everything the Kings need at SF. They've been replaying the NCAA tourny on one of the CBS sports channels and this guy does just about everything you can as a wing which is just further solidifying my opinion about how well he fits on the Kings.

He's jack of all trades role player type with the potential to master in DEFENSE. He can spot shoot from three, handle, pass to cutters and post guys from, shoot from, and drive from the triple threat, rebound, block shots, and is just simply a Garcia level pest chasing guys off screens. He always kind of reminded me of Tayshaun Prince, but his rebounding and shot blocking really reminds me of Shawn Marion. Honeycutt is a super quick jumper and thrives of physical contact which are two of the main reasons why he's so good in both areas. He may have weighed in below average but I don't think I've ever seen him get pushed around. I've seen him guard 2's, 3's, and college 4's and don't remember him looking totally overpowered. He makes silly mistakes sometimes but if this guy comes in and plays up to his potential Westphal is going to have a hard time keeping him off the floor.

Regardless, I'm still saying Honeycutt won't be ready this year--not that that matters, because we still have Salmons, Donte, and arguably Cisco in front of him.

And it depends on what you mean by the wings. I sure would like to see another PG.

I'm not saying the guy comes in as a starter right away, but I am saying he can certainly play Brockman minutes at the very least.

I meant SG/SF, but I really don't know about the Kings adding another PG being the right thing either. I think all those minutes are pretty well taken and Thomas might as well be that guy getting the "Jeter" minutes since that's probably all that's conceivably left at this point. Depends on the cost of course, but if they add a PG costing more than the minimum it's a waste of money unless that player is ready to be a "mentor" or a "locker room" guy and not much more.

So then you'd think he'll get minutes over Donte and/or Cisco? I don't see that happening at all.

Nah, we still need a real floor general. Our offense is going to be messy until we get somebody besides Tyreke running the show. We tried to get a veteran PG before the draft, and we still need one.

Hahaha, here we go again....

Here is what I wrote:

"...if this guy comes in and plays up to his potential Westphal is going to have a hard time keeping him off the floor."

Yes, if he comes in and does what he does effectively, he should be able to get minutes over Donte at the very least since Donte was still part of a tandem of Casspi/Greene that was only one half of what they needed at SF at all times. Depends on what you need at the position but unless the needs have really changed, defense/shooting was the combo Westphal was looking for last year. Westphal has already said that Honeycutt will probably get quite of bit of bench time to watch, but I'm sure if Honeycutt comes in and plays like he's capable his skill set will be a very obvious need filler to anyone with the ability to see. The skill set is there, Honeycutt is what he is and it fills the needs Westphal is looking for, now it's entirely up to Honeycutt to get those minutes however many or few that may be.

Ok, we need a "floor general" in your opinion but where or when does that "floor general" play? If your team is that in need of such a player you can't just bring somebody in as your 3rd point guard, play them role player minutes, and expect the offense to be fixed over night. Now, a shot blocker can be played like that with some pretty good returns but not your "floor general". I still think this team needs a team based system more than a floor general, this team has play makers coming out of it's ears at this point, put them in the right spots and watch it go. If there is any spot where a floor general is needed, it's right wherever the coach is supposed to sit.

Hey, pill, if you want to check out some of the post D I was talking about, check the main board in that thread about Cousins, page 1.
