other ideas instead of nene or dwight howard?
I was thinking trading for somebody such as Andre Iguodala since hes been mentioned around the league, possibly Monta Ellis, or Even the Duo of Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert, i think there are much more the nets can do then what it seems at this point do you have any other ideas?

We either trade to get a superstar and support what we currently have. Or fully rebuild and trade for draft picks, cap space, and young talent.
Personally, I don't want a middling playoff team that you know is a first/second round out (e.g. Atlanta Hawks).

If the price is right I'd try to nab Granger if we can free up the other space for Dwight or another elite big man.
My dream actually would be to someone steal LMA from Portland then offer Brook and picks to Orlando for Dwight, use the MLE to nab a starting SF and hope Brooks can start by then if we didn't lose him in the Dwight or LMA deal.
We'll see what happens though.

How in the H E double hockey sticks do you expect to get LMA without dealing Brook?
I'd deal Brook for him straight up, I'll say that much.

Yeah but you would have dealt Lebron for him a year ago before his big season so having a man crush on LMA sort of excludes you from any objective conversation now doesnt it....lol????
BTW...Prelude I would also love to land Granger and free cap space. That would be fantastic.

I don't know what the nets have planned but I think it's going to be something that no one is expecting it's obvious we want Dwight more than anything but I have a feeling he doesn't want us as much as other teams. If were going to do something it will be unexpected but great because I know we cannot be dumb enough to let argubly the best point guard in the league just go for nothing in return...

Add in 1st rnd picks for Miami and Indiana from the Nets.Pacers will want more when they trade Granger so hopefully the added picks can get it done and they don't have to take Miller if they'd rather have the capspace.Miami gets the depth they need and Brook who makes up for Bosh's production. The Nets sign Tyson Chandler and fill in the team with vet min signings or whoever we could get for cheap.Bench would be weak but i love the starting lineup and they're young enough to play big minutes for the next couple of years.
NETS
TyChandler/J.Williams
Bosh/Wright/J.Williams
Granger/Graham/Jarvis where are you Hayes
Brooks/M.West/Iverson lol
D-WILL/Gaines
MIAMI
Brook/Anthony/Big Z
Haslem/Outlaw
LBJ/J.Jones
Wade/Morrow/House
Chalmers/Farmar
PACERS
Hibbert/Petro
Hansbrough/McRoberts
Paul George/D.James/Posey
Rush/Miller/D.Jones
Hill/Collison/Price
Ok so who cares if this is realistic or not. What i really want to know is:Does this make the Nets a contender and would you do this or wait for Howard?

I almost wish this would happen just so I could see your reaction when people start criticizing Aldridge's rebounding (because they FINALLY realized that Aldridge is the same level rebounder as Lopez).

Here's another trade i was playing around with.I'm bored
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3l6blm5
I think this is pretty good value for all three teams Nets/Heat/Clippers.I would want the Nets to sign Tyson Chandler immediately after this trade. They would still have to find a way to upgrade the wings though.Mo Williams would be a perfect 4th option starting for the Heat. The Clips get veteran 2guard and a big.

Your right, it's not realistic... Pacers laugh at this trade...I can see NJ and Miami liking it though... So unless u got some dirt on Bird, no way it happens....

Re: other ideas instead of nene or dwight howard?
Indy has more capspace than us, and they are farther along toward becoming a contender. I so think that they would move Granger, but it'd be for much more than James and Petro.
Ellis and Iguodala seem to be valued by their current teams far more highly than we're willing to pay. Neither of those teams are desperate for financial relief. We could see check into ATL's interest in a Morrow / Joe Johnson swap, but I really don't think it would benefit us. Bogut could be had but won't be a bargain, and I'd easily rather have Brook at his salary anyway. Bargnani, Gay, Westbrook, Martin and the Jeffersons (BOTH Richard and Al) aren't being dangled at all by their teams, no matter what their fanbases may feel is right.
Okafor? Smoove? Boozer? yes, all three are available. Yet despite the fact that all 3 are overpaid, we'd have to cough up significant assets to pry them away. I'd rather sign Nene to a pricey contract without spending assets, than send youth to acquire one of these guys who's already signed to a pricey contract.

I also had Mike Miller and draft picks going to Indy along with D.James and Petro.I agree Indy could get a better offer. The Nets could offer the Pacers picks, capspace and young players it depends what they're looking for.

Yea i never liked it for the Pacers.I think Bird is going to take the best offer he can get and move forward with Paul George.I just hope he doesn't gift Granger to the Rockets.
Here's another trade where Miami keeps Mike Miller and Morrow goes to the Pacers. Not sure what to do with Petro but he'd have to go so the Nets could sign Tyson Chandler and Indy could use a big guy off the bench.Who knows,Indy could end up signing Nene.

Hey, I prefer our approach, but I'm talking wins and losses. You have to crawl before you can walk, and they got to the playoffs last season. We didn't.

Unless something drastic happens, Indy is a 2nd round out at the very best each year for the next 5 years.
I don't want to be that.
Also...Indy crawled for a looooooooong time before last season. I pray that doesn't happen to us.

This has been proven time and time again to be nonsense.
Fringe playoff teams do not become powerhouses simply through experience and adding some lower level role guys.
Stars win.
Contenders go from crawl to run, or they drafted right into walk and then went into a full out sprinter/marathon runner.
Milwaukee isn't becoming a contender anytime soon because they added Beno and Captain Jack to a 40 something win team, they're still a treadmill team who would be judged successful by being ousted in the 2nd round.
Atlanta crawled and then walked, maybe got to a jog.
Boston went from crawl to a drag race.
Miami went from walk to NASCAR.
OKC went from crawl to run.

Huh?
If you make the playoffs next year which is likely then it will be the same amount of time since both teams had playoff experience.

Playoff experience in the sense that Ecuhus and you are speaking is one of the most overrated ways of thinking in terms of long term NBA success out there.
And you guys crawled in that mediocre way that left you too good to get a top pick and too bad to make the playoffs, that is NBA hell and the worst way possible to build a team if you eventually hope to be a contender.
We went into full blown suck and got back to back 3rd overall picks, which in turn resulted in us getting a true superstar in Deron.
We also were just bad enough the one year to get the 10th pick and Brook, who is a true building block who has enormous trade value at this point, proven by Denver's preference for him and little else in incentive for Melo.
Your team right now is basically relying on Paul George to become an absolute stud to go anywhere past the 2nd round.
That or a blockbuster trade, which is ultra risky for a team like Indiana if it's for an unextended guy like say Chris Paul.
Deron was and is a HUGE risk for us and we're in a major media market with a super desirable situation.
I don't see a guy like Paul signing to stay with the Pacers unless they kept Granger and somehow landed a true top big as well.
Maybe if you can land Paul and then land say Bogut, you would be contenders and also resign Paul.
If not you're a treadmill team if you improve.
As of now, I see you guys as a fringe 8 seed next year.
Your parts are mismatched overrated young talent, Paul George's immense potential but mediocre present level of play and Granger, who I love, but has undeniably fallen off for 2 years running and definitely has that passive aggressive nature instead of a leader or a player with true killer instinct.
