*Just for clarification, Toronto owns their 2012 1st and Portland's 2012 1st. Once the draft order is determined, Toronto has the right to swap any of it's picks with Detroit. Once that has been enacted, Toronto will then send the lowest pick of the two to Washington.

TRADE 81: CLEVELAND & DETROIT AGREE TO DEAL

The Detroit Pistons have agreed to trade Richard Hamilton to Cleveland in exchange for a $12,500,000 TPE (from Cleveland's trade with Denver #80). Detroit will also send its 2012 1st round pick (the worst of TOR/PDX & DETs 1sts from a prior trade);
and the HOU Rockets 2012 2nd (top 40 protected).

While the Piston hate to move one of the last pieces to part of their last Championship legacy, this move allows them to make future deals that will strenghten their new core and allows RIP to compete rather than watch the Piston continue to develop young talent. The Piston's wish RIP well in his future but gain cap flexibility and opens playing time for Kyle Singler, Austin Daye and others.

Trade 82): Dallas & Detroit Announce Trade

The Detroit Pistons report that they have signed SF Marvin Williams of the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for a $8.5M TPE. Marvin will fill the starting role in the Pistons new lineup and brings a major defensive presence and an athletic wing who will stretch defenses and can finish in Lawrence Franks new up tempo offense. Marvin will be a vital piece in the rebuilding of the Detroit Pistons proud heritage.

Minnesota accepts. We felt that Webster simply made too much money for someone sitting third on the depth chart. By making this trade, we acquired a cheap, young prospect for that role, as well as adding a third-string center on an expiring contract. Even with making a 1-for-2 trade, we still manage to save over one-million dollars in the swap.

Accept. I'm going to hate myself for making this deal I bet. The pick could go 2nd (I want Davis or Barnes), or Wallace could sign somewhere else. But I felt like this was another risk move I had to make. Wallace could be the guy that makes D12 and CP3 want to stay. He's a perfect 3rd option, capable of 16/8 with terrific defense. With a core of Paul, Wallace, Gibson, Howard, we will now look to just add a SG in FA.
