clips would certainly benefit from Young, Iguodala or Josh Smith. Championship quality rebounding. anyone want Kaman now?

Kidd JR Smith and Wade stand out in rebounding amongst other things. some of JR Smith's #s are missing but he is capable of most of what Crawford does over his career.

Marvin at backup guard gives us a rebounding guard like CHI and MIA
and a guy who can replace Crawford. Albeit in an uptempo slash and rebound style

versus slow down and isolate jumpshot style.

Are you speaking from a Hawks or Clippers standpoint? If anybody doesn't do this deal, it's the Clips. That pick could be Harrison Barnes

The Clips trade their backup center who missed/DNP 50 Games, bring back Eric Gordon, turn Aminu into a 2nd year backup, bring back a 2nd year Blake Griffin, and turn Ryan Gomes into a backup and add Josh Smith.

The graph is not hard to read. Adding Josh Smith would be akin to/better than adding Thaddeus Young/Andre Iguodala to the frontcourt and would give the

and u think we're getting a lottery pick let alone top 5 (nbadraft.net). :o

if the Clips stand pat they'd have to tank (or injuries) to get that lottery pick.

I guess you never really read what I'd originally said. I never said the Clippers pick. They own the T'Wolves' unprotected pick. THAT will be a good pick. No **** the Clippers aren't a lotto team -- they're an upcoming powerhouse

Minn unprotected pick. My apologies. As long as Minnesota holds onto Beasley there is hope lol.

Guess you're right Derrick Williams looked fundamentally sound compared to other NBA players in Manila. He is a taller shooter and more efficient than Beasley. Minnesota's pick will likely be a high pick.

Clippers might hold onto it. But Blake will probably not enjoy another season of Gomes and co at SF, so they might trade the pick?

Johnson is 30 years old. Hawks wanting the pick is a clear rebuilding move. and Kaman is 30 soon too so they'll be looking for another center.
Horford would be near 30 before they get more pieces and move Joe. Teague would be at his peak. Then they'd need to unload Horford.
Dumb move for the Hawks.

I don't understand...
Is this is a follow up from another thread...or just something of your own doing?

I'm clearly a fan of Smith going to Chicago...but I don't know where this is all coming from.

This is a follow up from another thread trying to determine how Championship and contending frontcourts are built.

Backcourts were later added to see how we compare but... its incomplete.
Repercussions of trades of our players and FA signings, Dalembert in Miami and JR in Chicago being worst case scenarios.

- Horford with Durant with Perkins
- Blake Griffin with Josh Smith (for Kaman, stupid), Iguodala (trade) or Young (RFA)
- mving Marvin to the backcourt = easy looks etc.

team #1 DALLAS

team #2 This is a if we had one of the best SFs in the league in Paul Pierce (numbers from last year) and paired him with the SF level rebounding and scoring of Josh Smith AND kept Horford.

Who knows if we get past a team with size but overall we'd be a less efficient and consistent Dallas Mavericks squad.

team #3
These are Atlanta native Jordan Hill's rookie numbers when he was motivated and given more onsistent Houston minutes. Motiejunas and Malcolm Thomas' numbers come if they are as good as Hakim Warrick. Those are Hakim Warrick #s, (defensive rating not included).

Marvin's USAGE
Marvin moving to backcourt with Hinrich would presumably lift his mismatchs and obviously, most importantly give him more possessions and as we all see confidence when separated from Joe.

Thomas is a more consistent mid range and better ball handler and leakout threat so they would play off each other great. I would even say Thomas has better handle of the basketball than Smith. He has a better height to wingspan ratio (same wingspan as McGrady and Warrick) and a different handle as opposed to Smith who always dribbles the ball high.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
