Re: 2011-12 Bundesliga Discussion Thread
Bayern has nabbed Jerome Boateng, that is huge for their fragile defense.
Neuer - Rafinha, J. Boateng, Badstuber (?), Lahm - Robben, Schweinsteiger, xx, Ribery - Müller - Gomez
xx = could be Kroos, Pranjic, Alaba, Tymoshuk etc.
Man, that looks pretty intimidating...

Finally Bayern might have a couple semi decent CB's. i'm guessing Alex wont be joining Munich now? Unless Badstuber has gotten faster, I'm not sure he's good enough to start.

They may better target another CB. Badstuber is just not fast enough to keep up with the top strikers in the world.
Anyway, Bayern Munich's team is just sick IMO.
They have world class in Neuer, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Ribery and Robben (and all of them are still young). Gomez is not a worldclass striker but he converts when given the ball in front of the goal.
Then there's a couple of young promissing players who have already showed they are really solid players in Müller, Kroos, Rafinha, Boateng, Luis Gustavo(I guess you can count Badstuber here, too, but I'm not really a fan). Some solid vets you can count on in Tymo, Olic, Butt, van Buyten and Pranjic. Alaba, Usami and Petersen should be good additions to the team as well.
If they can keep their team spirit up like in 2009/10 they can make it really far next season.
Even if Dortmund can keep up with their amazing play from last season I think it's going to be a really boring Bundesliga season. On paper that Munich 09/10 team is nothing against the current team.

No reason to let him leave. They need more than 2 good CBs for next season and Santana fits that backup role perfectly. As long as they don't get totally blown away by some offer, I don't see him walking.
Why? Heard some rumors?

His agent is almost a recurrent presence at Laranjeiras(Flu's head office and reserve stadium), and has Fluminense's authorization to negociate with BVB since the beginning of the year. He don't want to be a backup anymore, and he wants to come to Brazilian Champs Fluminense. He wants the Brazilian National team. Flu and Felipe has agreed a verbal deal, and has to get him out of BVB. He's a loyal guy and won't make any noise, but I guess there are some pressure and a nice offer to BVB front office.
I think everyone agrees that Felipe Santana is a better player that the kind to get only 600 minutes a season.

If he can't even play for Dortmund I don't think he has any chance to make it to the national team.

Eintracht Frankfurt sucks even in the 2nd Bundesliga.
Fürth is up 2-0 at half

That's why he wants to leave, he wants to start and at 'Brasileirão' he would be one of the best from day one. Subotic and Hummels are a tough competition.
The best center backs at Brazilian First Division are: (No order)
Alex Silva - Didn't do well at Germany. Set to sign for Flamengo. Peaked.
Rhodolfo - Unproven São Paulo center back. Talented.
Réver - Didn't do well at Germany. Now he's playing at Atlético Mineiro. Peaked.
Dedé - Unproven Vasco da Gama center back.
Henrique - Didn't do well at Spain. He's coming back to Palmeiras.
Victorino - Cruzeiro Uruguayan center back.
It's a nice crop but Felipe Santana wouldn't be any worse. I rate him higher than Henrique, Rhodolfo and Victorino.

Porto Alegre wants Breno. Might be a good thing considering he's about to sit on the bench this season again.

Podolski is no longer captain of 1. FC Köln, Geromel is now. Solbakken apparently wants to shake up the hierarchy of the team, which is hugely Poldi-centric.
Comment: if Geromel leaves Cologne, which is not that unlikely, this move will become pure gold. (In other words, 1. FC Köln, as usual

I'm still waiting for the 2nd return of Christoph Daum.
Ribery is injured again. This dude can't catch a break lol.

Daum might be managing Besiktas soon, perhaps in Turkish second division.

he did a decent job domestically, shouldn't really been fired from Fenerbahce but they wanted more success in european cups.

They played much better after Podolski was appointed captain last season. I get the move though.
What I don't get is the **** Mario Basler was spitting.

Re: 2011-12 Bundesliga Discussion Thread
Magath seems to have totally lost it. Subbed Josue out after 30mins for Tuncay, subbed Tuncay out after 60mins for Helmes.
Wolfsburg is a total mess right now. Their defense is pathetic, their midfield without any structure and their attack is just not good enough around to turn things around. Magath still tries to play the diamond, whichs success depended on Misimovich, Dzeko and Grafite back in 2009.
Felix, wake up. They're all gone.

I was very impressed with him and Mohammed when Arsenal played them.
I'm sorry I haven't been funny. I am not a comedian. I am Lenny Bruce.
