Would add a Colby Rasmus to that Mariner wish list. His average is down a bit this year but he's got 50 homeruns in the bigs and still 24 years old. Rasmus in left and Pence in right, can i at least dream for something good.

As much as Z can't be fault for the structural personnel problems that he inherited (many), the fact of putting out one of the worst offenses in the modern era two years in a row is still a big strike against him. That's hard to do.

Delay over, Sabathia comes back out, perfection through six. Neat.
Honestly, I'm surprised we haven't been no-hit six or seven times this year. Hasn't Tampa been no-hit 3 or 4 times over the last couple years? I'm literally amazed we haven't been this year and last.

He absolutely dominated us. Unreal. Deep down, i wasn't even opposed to the perfect game happening. In some sick way it would be cathartic.

Had our 18 million dollar man up in the 8th with a chance to get the lead and he Ks after showing bunt. Sorry but that act is getting real old.

LMAO @ our team, that Ichiro at-bat was horrific but it wasn't even the worst of the inning, IMO. Kennedy had the 8th inning at bat that set me off; bases juiced (three walks, naturally), no outs, full count, Kennedy swings and misses at a ball that bounces in the dirt before it crosses home plate. It's like he thought a cricket game had broken out.
Chone Figgins got the same exact location the very next pitch and laid off. Bad day at the office when Chone Figgins shows better plate discipline than you. Of course, Figgs tried his best to hit into an inning-ending double play, but the 3B made an error with the glove and only got one out, and a run even scored.

Figgy failed in his quest to fail. 3 straight walks from Sabathia. Some game this was.
Oh and what is that, 10 game hitting streak for Ryan? Not too bad.
Ichiro.......wow.

Scratch Rasmus from the wish list, he's off to Toronto for pitching. Jack Z is like the guy who is sitting there with a pair of deuces and tells the dealer he's ok.

2-0 M's in the 5th. Felix is on his game today. Phil Hughes has an era over 9, even we should theoretically score 3-4 runs today. C'mon Felix, end this thing.

Well, in the 8 games since being recalled Carp is 11/31 (.355) after another 2-hit day today.

I'm shocked at how little value the Cardinals just got in return for Rasmus: RHPs Edwin Jackson and Octavio Dotel, LHP Marc Rzepcynzki, OF Corey Patterson [+ PTBNL]. Really? A mediocre starter set to be a FA at the end of the year, a couple decent bullpen guys, and a speedy OF who's had trouble sticking in the big leagues for years. A Bedard/League/Halman deal would've accomplished the same thing and possibly left the Cardinals with a collection of better talent.

I think we could have easily matched that with Fister and League but what the hell do i know.
How about Mike Carp and Dustin Ackley? i think these two guys are legit. Carp after his recall looks like the hitter we thought he was after torching the PCL. Now lets go out and find a 4 hole hitter.

How nice would it be to have someone other than a top prospect emerge from our farm system as a real hitter? A surprise? I hope Carp can be such a player.

7 hits combined for Carp and Ackley today. Heck, 4 by Ichiro, too.
