Re: Official Raptors 2012 NBA Draft Thread
I just wan't a sf who projects to be a scorer and a could be a good defender or a rebounder. This draft looks like it has a bunch of players in that mold. From Lebryan Nash, Miller, Jones, Barnes, and Gillchrist.

What do people think about James McAdoo at Small Forward?

I think he's another Melo. He and Gilchrist are my preference so far at the SF position in next year's draft. I wonder if he'll get much pt though with Barnes in the way at NC.

That's some high praise. I wonder what Carolina will do though, maybe he might get stuck with the Marvin Williams role.

Re: Official Raptors 2012 NBA Draft Thread
I'm intrigued by James McAdoo. Seems like he's got a good character and can play the game well. I worry about his NBA position though. After reading some scouting reports, he seems to be a bit of a tweener and we can't afford to strike out in this draft. Plus, with him and Barnes playing next year, I think he'll get stuck playing the PF which we really do not need. If he really is a SF though, I think he's gotta be in the discussion.

Barnes wasn't even the best in this past (awful) draft....I wouldn't be upset with taking him but he didn't show that star potential he did in highschool and looked a lot like maybe a slightly better Deng which I was gunna be happy with if we ended up with him but there's no way I pick him over Miller.
Everyone is sleeping on QMill! The only reason he feel from NUMBER 1 in this draft was a knee injury. From what I've heard he's back to normal and if that's the case he's gonna make a lot of people feel stupid come draft time and Davis may ride this early hype to the #1 pick meanwhile Miller is the one...I wish Drummond was in this draft though. Then it would be him and Shabazz the following lol.
Agree 100% with Miller

Tony Wroten is dirty!!! This is footage from the Jamal Crawford SL in Seattle.

I'm a Wizards fan, but he gave it to Wall at :28 to :36. H's the most effortless passer I've seen in a while. I think he'll be a top 10 pick next year. The guy is really being slept on!

He's currently listed at 6'9, interview states that the team was only together 10 days prior to the tourney. He would look good in the Raptors front court.

Unfortunately his parents couldn't spell "Patrick" right on the birth certificate. Sort of like Tyrus/Tyrese Thomas.

Why so he could be JoVa's permanent bi*ch? Man, you're cruel. The guy has no offensive ability whatsoever.

Re: RealGM Blog: Patric Young of Florida
Still **** whining about calls
This guy was schooled in the U19 tourney, and has yet to produce anything in College... but yeah... of course we can project he would look good in the Raptors frontcourt
RealGM: You said some good things about Jonas Valanciunas who was the most skilled opponent in this tournament. The word ‘fight’ cannot even describe what was happening between you both during a friendly game back in Lithuania. What are your impressions of Valanciunas so far?
Young: The referees really let us play. He is like a superstar in his own city and I had to do the best I could against him. Because I am the one guarding him, the crowd hates me. Because I am the one trying to stop him. It was a really tough game; he was getting all the calls. I think it’s not a fair assessment to judge that game. The second time we played, he was really good. He rebounds really well and he finishes in the post. He has a lot of potential. We talked at the hotel and he seems to be a really nice guy. He was telling me good luck for my game a nd I told him the same. He is a good player and I wish him the best on his career.

Re: RealGM Blog: Patric Young of Florida
why on earth would we draft this guy? so he can sit behind Davis, Amir and Bargs and we can pay him to do nothing? So we can ignore all the other positions we're lacking in? So he can complain on twitter every time some random outplays him?
Maybe you're just stirring sit.

I think Michael Gilchrist is the answer.

Re: Official Raptors 2012 NBA Draft Thread
We are over a yr away if we there is even going to be a draft but I can already tell you that it comes down to two players already for us. H.Barnes and Quincy Miller. These are the two SF that I believe have the most star potential right now. I will include Micheal Gilchrist as well but I would hope he can put on a few inches b4 draft day which is still likely. If he can top out at legit 6'8 then he to can be added to that list.

My only conviction right now is we need a 2nd lottery pick in this draft at all costs. Doesn't matter what contracts you have to take back; everyone but Demar and Ed should be in play.

I think the chances of this are very slim. First, with such a deep draft there won't be many teams that are willing to trade a top draft pick. Secondly, I don't see BC bringing in our draft pick, Jonas and another draft pick all in the same year.

Wroten is a very talented kid. I still like Myck better, but if we can't get him I like Wroten as the next best PG prospect. He's got incredible size for a PG too--6'6.5" in shoes, 204lbs, with a 6'8" wingspan. I think his ACL injury will keep him from getting drafted really high in the lottery as well.
