lions will win superbowl
you heard it from me first

Las Vegas isn't laughing. The Lions' odds of winning Super Bowl XLVI have gone from 75-1 to 18-1. "We can't stop the money on Detroit," said the manager of MGM's sportsbook.

Well Stafford was drafted #1, so he has potential to be the greatest QB ever. We have 2 first round RBs, so 2 shots at HOF stud runners there. We have another 1st round WR so we could have a second HOF next to HOF CJ. Pettigrew could be considered the best TE of this decade. Suh could be the greatest DT of all time, Fairley could be the 2nd best DT of all time. Show me another team in NFL history that had this many players on their roster that were all the best players of all time at their positions? And you think that isn't enough to qualify for the playofffs, let alone a SB prediction? You need to learn more about what the word "can" means. It doesn't even have to be likely to qualify for "can make it", but nevertheless it still looks pretty likely that we will make it. So yeah, we CAN make the playoffs dude.

And you need to learn more about how some words not always are meant to be read literally. English isn't my mother tongue but even I understood what he meant.

Say what? I understood what he meant to, by reading what he wrote. You are now insinuating that you are right and I'm wrong about what he meant, and there is no possible way for you to know if that's the case with the given information we see in these posts here. You are just guessing, and because it's plausible that you are right, that doesn't make it so, as you are asserting by claiming you "know what he meant". I "know what he meant" too, by my own interpretation of his words the same way you did. So since English isn't your native language, I'll explain to you how this works. If you disagree with somebody then you say you are disagreeing with their opinion or interpretation, you don't conveniently assume your opinion or perspective to be true and absolute and use that as contention to the other guy's opinion. That's called rude or socially ignorant as to general customs and acceptable norms. just fyi, welcome to America

I'll respond to your thoughts in a universal language:

Seriously ? Was that necessary, I think everyone knows what i mean but i'll further elaborate for you ...

With the way the NFC is looking i don't think we WILL (there is that better for you lol) make it to the playoffs. The Bears and Packers are in our division and IMO both will make the playoffs. The Falcons, Saints, Eagles, and Giants are all good teams. Plus you also have the team from the NFC west who will win the division and qualify for the playoffs. The Cowboys and Bucs could also have a big year. So with how competitive the NFC looks to me, i don't think we CAN make the cut for the playoffs. But I hope they do.

I wasn't the one you had to elaborate for, I understood what you meant and you just said the same thing, no issue with me in that regard. You just cleared up the misinterpretation of the other guy, so you should have quoted his post to make that comment.

i think we're one draft away from superbowl contender, and this year we'll make the playoffs. however with Stafford at QB we're on tackle away from 4 wins again. He really is a great qb, its getting him on the field

Well we might still be able to trade him for Andrew Luck! We just need to pick the right team now and get fair value for him and use that value to help the team and take a better gamble on a financially cheaper QB. It was just a horrid idea from the start to draft Stafford, regardless of whether he pans out; it just didn't make sense to take that path. And if we continue to stay on that path, then we are continuing onward against the odds.

"If" stays healthy is already a special condition that you have to preface and hope for, and that's too much hope to enjoy the value of our pick. The position is irrelevant as I don't have a problem with Stafford's position, I only have a problem with his pay rate, which is what makes him unqualified to be considered as a member of this team IMO. That was the same before we drafted him, and that status of it being better to live without him than with him has been valid every second since. The only thing that has changed is that our profit to trade him has VASTLY shot down from what it was if we would have traded him before picking him, or during the highly opportune time last year when the salary cap numbers opened up all kinds of future long-term loopholes to the teams that snuffed them out then. WE SUCK at thinking and planning on this team. Our #1 problem of the last 20 years.
