Thought this was interesting

Would love to hear your guys thoughts... Could he challenge Ray or Reggie when it's all said and done?

I dont belive stats are enough to compare EJ to Ray Allen. In most cases players become better shooters later in their careers.
The major thing for EJ to accomplish is to become not only a scorer, but also a clutch and efficient one.
If you asked who I want to take the last shot on my team if I could choose a player, I would say Ray Allen. I wouldn't say Kevin Martin, Steve Kerr or Gallinari.

I belive EJ as the potential to become BETTER than Ray Allen. Time will show if he actually can.

The key to any success that EJ may have in this league will depend on his health. Thankfully, his knees have not been an issue. Last season, Eric started off scoring at a high level, but his perimeter shot was under 20%. It didn't start to come around until a couple of months in. I could see him shooting above 40% at some time in the near future.

I wouldn't bank on him reaching Ray Allen's record, because Allen is just that good and can still contribute for a few more seasons. Ray Ray has played in 92% of his regular season games whereas Gordon is at about 80% atm. It's all about longevity, health and situation to an extent. If we can add another player in addition to Griffin that will command attention from opposing defenses, then Gordon could be in a position to benefit from more open looks from outside.

Are you kidding me? Stephen Curry is so much of a better shooter than Gordon, its not even funny. Not to mention a better all around player.

I feel that Curry outperformed EJ in Curry's rookie year, but I'm giving this past season to Gordon. Curry is a better rebounder and has much better point guard skills, but I'll take Gordon for his ability to defend 3 positions in addition to what he brings offensively (efficient scoring, perimeter shooting and ability to get to the line).

Curry is one of the best shooters in the league imo. Gordon struggled early on last year by struggling from both outside and at the foul line, but his overall percentages still ended up being pretty good after the rough start.

1st 10 gms: 3PT - 19% (10/53) ; FT - 79% (72/91)
1st 20 gms: 3PT - 26% (25/98) ; FT - 81% (149/185)
Last 36 gms: 3PT - 42% (81/193); FT - 85% (138/163)

If and when Gordon has everything clicking at the same time, he's easily top 4 at his position.

I'll say this I'll take Gordon over Curry. Nothing against Curry, I just think Gordon is the better all around player. Gordon is a great defender.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
