Looks like AW is finally doing some cleaning up. I remember when Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was one of his absolute favorites...

However:

Lansbury close to Norwich move

Arseblog News has learned that Henri Lansbury is close to a permanent move to newly promoted Norwich City.

The England U21 midfielder has only one year left on his contract and enjoyed a fine loan spell at Carrow Road last season, appearing 15 times and scoring 4 goals.

On his Twitter account yesterday he posted the following message, “Is it time for a new chapter, hmmm”, before deleting it, which led many to speculate about his future.

There was some talk that he really enjoyed his loan spell there last season so at least this move makes some sense. With the movement of these young players, I wonder what AW's stance on Eastmond is. It doesn't seem like he'll ever see significant time as a first team player.

As far as transfers go...

Rumored Targets:
Chris Samba CB- Appears as though Tottenham's got the winning bid around 15M
Gary Cahill CB- Supposedly no offers have been made because asking price (17M) is too high
Jose Enrique LB- Expected to end up at Liverpool
Phil Jagielka CB- Looks like we have the highest bid out there right now...Wenger/Hill-Wood have confirmed strong interest
Juan Mata W- Looks like the race is between Arsenal and Tottenham
Lucas Biglia DM- Wants to come to Arsenal, no status as far as if we're going to make an offer

Outgoing:
Bendtner- Same old rumors of him going to the clubs who keep denying interest
Almunia- Rumored interest from Atletico Madrid, Malaga, and Fenerbahce
Eboue- Appears as though Eboue to Galatasaray is close to a done deal.

Hopefully we can land Mata and convince Cesc to stay. I'd be ok with a Mata/Nasri swap but not too happy if we lose Cesc.

After the effort Nasri put in today, I'd be fine with losing him if we got Mata as a replacement.

Giving him the captain's armband after RVP went off was not cool either. Did anyone hear about how Cesc left at halftime? This is from the daily mail:

So far Barcelona have offered £30million for Fabregas. It was not
clear whether Wenger had suddenly lost patience with his restless skipper and ordered him out of the stadium or if the player had been sent for further talks about his future at a secret location.

Gotta give it to them for creativity.

As of the game Gervinho, Kos played well. Can you imagine Arsenal on the counter with Gerv and Walcott on the wings.

A little concerned about Jenkinson with Eboue about to leave. We are going from one of the best 1-2 fullback combos to mediocre options.

I thought Jenkinson was alright, one of the positives of the game. I've been fairly impressed with him overall, he's farther along than I expected, he's strong, fast, has a good touch. Other than his Lee Dixon like own-goal in the previous game, of course. Sagna's pretty bomb-proof anyway, so I don't think we'll be seeing too much of him.

Word. Nasri was awful today. Didn't look bothered at all. I'm happy selling him now, regardless of Mata. It was definitely weak giving him the captains arm band too.

I have zero patience for players who were major contributors to our second half collapse last year, and then complain that they want to go somewhere and win.

Nor do I buy his camps BS that he didn't sign the contract he had agreed to because the contract wasn't delivered in time. Someone talked to him or his agent, and told him he can get a much bigger payday waiting a year and signing for Man City or Man U.

P.S. I love Aaron Ramsey, and Squillaci still sucks.

Gibbs-Verm-Kos-Sagna starting vs NY, think that'll be our 1st choice D.

LOL at NY Red Bull winning the Emirates cup. Anyone else catch the commentary about whether or not MLS clubs are premier league quality? Are they serious?

They were talking about whether MLS clubs are Championship quality. "Definitely not PL quality."

I think the comment he made right before that was about where they would rank in the EPL.
