4. Who's the most promising power forward in the NBA

Justin DeFeo, Nets Are Scorching: In his rookie season, Blake Griffin proved he is a lot more than just a human highlight film. He showed his blend of athleticism and power were simply too much for opposing forwards to deal with. He averaged a double-double this past season and still has yet to add different dimensions to his game.

Rahat Huq, Red94: All that stands in the way of young Blake Griffin and ultimate greatness is the Krispy Kreme curse to which his 1990s Seattle-based forebearer fell victim.

Bret LaGree, Hoopinion: There's essentially no level of accomplishment Blake Griffin could achieve that would surprise me. Already, he can score, rebound and pass at an elite level. Should his defense and free throw shooting improve to anywhere north of average, he'll have an argument to be the best player in the NBA.

Seeing Blake play at Staples 20 times last year, just showed me how special he is. The Dude works hard & is hungry. I don't think the NBA has seen a#4 this good,this young since Tim Duncan came into the league.

I loved watching him in college and wanted him on the Clips for the attitude that he brings. There was a lot of talk from outsiders (i.e. general NBA fans, haters, etc.) that he was a so-so #1 pick and that he wouldn't be the top pick most years. Now, you look at lists of who people would want to build their team around and Blake is usually in the top 5 or so.

I knew he was going to be good. Not this good, this soon though. Watching him in summer league 2 years ago, you could tell that he was something that the Clippers have never really had (even though he was raw). I truly believe that he's going turn this franchise around and create some history if you know what I mean :wink:

I think there may be a parade in the next 5 years in L.A. and the colors won't be purple & gold. Keep Blake, DJ ,DeAndre & start building the team. Unfortunately, it may be time to say good bye to Kaman but, that would be a business move.

I know that would sound far-fetched and homerish to non-Clipper fans, but adding another key component (FA or Draft) along with the progression of those 3 can make it possible.

Blake and EJ could be a smaller version of Shaq and Kobe. At 22-23 years old I project their 11-12 numbers like this:
Blake 24.0ppg/13.5rpg/3.8apg/51%fgs
EJ 25.5ppg/3.0rpg/5.5apg/46%fgs
That is pretty damn good, especially at their young age. It's just about getting the right pieces around them. They have a dirty work guy in DJ and a guard that could spread the floor in MO. I think they just need more shooters to spread the floor, if they don't end up getting a pure point like DWill.
