Versus will be named NBC Sports Network in January

Post#1 » by trwi7 » Wed Jul 20, 2011 9:25 pm

In the course of an interview for this week’s Times Union sportsmedia column, NBC programming president Jon Miller said the new name for “Versus” should be revealed within the next couple of weeks, “but we’re not going to flip the switch until the start of the new year.”

Shocker.

But on another note I really like what NBC is doing with NBC Sports Network. They found themselves a corner stone sport and they seem to be doing pretty well with it. Also having a major network bascially build a channel around hockey is just going to help spread this game in the US.

Now that Versus is no more, we can look back on the best promotion in the history of television provided to us by Versus.
