Palmer sold his house.

Looks like Palmer’s house has a buyer

Well, considering the housing market lately, that didn’t take long.

Carson Palmer’s house, which was put on the market in late March, took less than two months to find a buyer. Comey & Shepherd Realtors lists the Indian Hill property as under contract. The five-bedroom, two-story property in Indian Hill had an asking price of $2.1 million.

The house, made of stone and brick, sits on five acres and also features a gourmet kitchen, 5 1/2 bathrooms, solarium, swimming pool, spa, golf green and pond.

The real estate listing describes Palmer’s house ”an exceptional home that exudes comfort, character and privacy.”

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has said since the scouting combine that the team was moving on without Palmer after a meeting in early February between the two. Since then the team has drafted Andy Dalton but Lewis did indicate last week that if Palmer decided to return, he would be the starter.

Palmer, who would be entering his ninth season, has asked to be traded or he would retire. He is scheduled to make $11.5 million in base salary this year. The contract, which has four years remaining, would pay Palmer $53 million ($50 million in base and $1 million in roster bonuses in 2012, ’13 and ’14). http://cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/201 ... s-a-buyer/

The Bengals have called his bluff. They've said they are 100% not trading him and they believe he's now retired.

Why don't they just trade him?

the owner has put his foot down and stands strong. you sign a contract and there is an agreement between both sides, the team and the player. they will not trade or release a player who do not wish to be there in cincy. i can respect that. i remember cincy turning down 2 1st round picks from Washington for Chad Johnson.

on the other hand however, cincy releases players who aren't good enough...

Cincy has **** ownership, and being hard headed is their bread and butter. Its funny they have basically moved on since they signed Grankoski (or however you spell it) but they'd rather stick it to Carson then get draft picks.

im not sticking up for cincy because i don't like their management much either. but you also have to consider the fact that players they draft, who develops into stars, a lot of the times they do not want to play in cincy. No big names want to play for the Bengals. I'm not saying that the team is not guilty of bad management but they have to do something to make a statement.

I like the long term thinking. The mid term cost may be a pick or two but evantually players will realize they can't force their way out of contracts in Cincy and will start acting accordingly.
