With the amount of targets we have and us likely running the ball a higher % than last year (maybe not a ton higher, but higher), I don't see Finley reaching the asinine projections he was on pace for last year. Too many good players on the team. I do expect him to be the #1 targeted receiving weapon though, and to lead the team in receiving TD's, assuming he stays healthy, of course.

I could legitimately see zero 1,000 yard individual receiving or rushing seasons this year by the Packers.

Yeah, I'm not sure how you can target all of these guys and still get some of them 1,000 yards. I can maybe see Grant or Starks grazing the 1,000 yard range, but I don't how much we're going to run the ball.

That is probably true but I wouldn't be surprised to see us in the 40's quite a few times this year. Even if we pull our starters late in blow out wins, we still have Flynn throwing to Cobb, Nelson, Jones, Williams, Quarless and have Green and Starks running.

Yepp, and I think there will be a lack of games where we only score 3 points. Even if Aaron is injured.

I see both Finley and Jennings over 1,000 if they are healthy. They are so much better than the other receivers on the team.

It may be close, but in 2009, Jennings played 16 games and Finley played 13, and they combined for slightly over 1,700 yards. Granted, they are both probably better now (and Rodgers as well), but so are Jones and Nelson, and we have a more balanced and talented running game, not to mention if Cobb takes any of their targets and/or shortens the field due to return game.

I could see it happening, I guess I wouldn't bet on it.

Right. Plus if you single cover Finley and Jennings, you exploit a huge mismatch which would obviously be in favor of us. They'll get their yardage as long as they stay healthy.

Jennings could have a monster season because I can't see teams doubling him very often with Finley on the field. Finley will still get his because he's open even if he's doubled.

Seems like once again it's going to come down to how much time the O-line can give Rodgers because I don't see any defense being able to cover all our weapons.

As scary as our weapons are, imagine if the young guys are legit on the line. I'm not expecting Sherrod to come in and start this season, but what if Newhouse takes control of one of the positions? Or Lang looks like he's figured it out? McDonald? A line of Newhouse/Sherrod/McDonald/Sitton/Bulaga starting next year?

It will be interesting to see what happens at tackle. I've seen some say Newhouse can only play tackle, and it obviously appears to be both Bulaga and Sherrod's best position as well. Probably a good problem to have though. I'm guessing we draft an interior lineman top 2-3 rounds next year.

Can Newhouse play G? If so, that would make for one athletic left side with Sherrod, with some maulers on the right (Sitton/Bulaga).

If Sherrod can play RT I'd kick Bulaga in and let Newhouse play LT.

Finley's double catch.

I expect his numbers will be Equestrian this year!

Sherrod, the Packers’ first-round draft pick, had the good snap in blocking Raji at guard, but later at left tackle was beaten by Walden on a bull rush and was beaten badly on an outside speed rush by undrafted rookie Jamari Lattimore. On his last snap, back at guard, Sherrod had a stalemate with first-year pro Jay Ross.

Didn't see this before:

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/126562528.html

"We have an opportunity to play the way we did last year and hopefully expand," McCarthy said. "We have 47 new concepts that we've added to this offense. We're trying to improve schematically and continue to create opportunities.

Boy I don't know that I'd go that far. Way too soon to know really.
